Okay, take 2. It's Bob STURT, not Stuart as the Collins book says. Here's a post by him on Facebook. In the comments section he mentions Rock Candy. He lives in Adelaide, Australia now. From County Durham / London. Looks like he's still in the music business and visits the UK regularly. No clues about his age etc. and still can't find him in the GRO. Also, the only other member of Rock Candy that he's friends with is Chris Reeves who commented on that blog link you posted saying that he joined the band after the release of the single. So more info but still nothing useful.

Didn't actually see that page when I was searching! Interesting. There is a Martin O'Mahony born in Chelsea in 1957. Possibly him. Can't find any matching names for the others around that period though. Definitely need a press cutting of some kind to get a head start on this. I find it pretty crazy that nothing is known of a band who had a top 40 single!

Been watching through a lot of the Louis Theroux documentaries on Netflix recently. Last night watched Keith Harris and Orville, which was shot around 2001. Both Keith's parents were in it and were quite sprightly for their age. His father Norman Ernest Harris (b. 1912) was also a ventriloquist. He died in 2005. His mother Lilian (known as "Lila") Harris (b. 1917) is still with us, aged 103. Cheshire Live coverage of her 100th birthday in 2017.

Worldwide there has been far, far more COVID cases than that. I thought that was obvious. 1) Many people are totally asymptomatic or have mild symptoms and won't get tested period. 2) Other countries are not able to test everyone. Here in the UK, for months they were only testing people who were classed as being vulernable and at risk. 3) In some other countries figures are being fudged to make the problem look minimal in order to keep the economy/society functioning and to act as propaganda to the outside world – there have likely been far far more cases in China, Russia, and indeed many cases in dictatorships like Turkmenistan and North Korea where it is said there are "no cases".

Good question. I wouldn't imagine so. Thankfully I don't think we've ever had any high profile inmates over 100 in the UK? Just how do you arrive at that “statistic”? The virus has a mortality rate of less than 1%. That <1% is overwhelmingly people who are elderly and/or have underlying conditions like terminal cancer. Who in the White House staff comes under that focus?

    Josef Fritzl

No, not dead. I just suddenly remembered him earlier when considering names for my own list next year. I note that from the above article he was battling dementia in April 2019 and was then said to be very ill. He'll be 86 in April (if he makes it to then). Him and Sidney Cooke should feature alongside Peter Sutcliffe on next year's DL. All three likely to kick the bucket, and three reasons to cheer.
