Right, here goes. So there's also this. "Anonymous said: Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but KEVIN ROWAN known to his mates as DAN moved to BOSCOMBE DORSET some years ago and has now since died. He was a good friend and will be missed greatly." (July 2013) FREEBMD: Kevin G Rowan, birth registered Sep 1963 in Liverpool North. GRO: Nothing. No persons called Kevin Rowan with a birth year of 1963 have died since our last knowledge of him being alive (that reunion show in 2008). So he didn't die on British soil, unless he changed his name. Ancestry: Electoral register from 2010 Kevin G Rowan b. 1963–1965, living in Bournemouth, Dorset. Ah ha! So he was alive in 2010. So if he died, why did that anonymous poster say "some years ago", if he was alive just 3 years prior? Also, that Aussie obit gives a spouse's name of Karen. Now, there are no records in the UK of a ROWAN, KEVIN ever marrying anyone by the name of Karen. Regardless, I don't believe he just up and left from Bournemouth at some point, moved to Oz, got married, fell ill and died within the space of just a few years. I just don't buy it. It just seems like someone is putting the cat among the pigeons to me. I'm more inclined to believe the comments saying he's "alive and well" or "I saw him the other day". Maybe just wants to be left alone. If anyone knows where to access an electoral register subsequent to 2010 then we may get absolute confirmation that he's still alive and that YouTube commenters are pulling our leg or simply confused/misinformed.

Cheers, I've updated for Terry's DOB and age at death. Still looking for Rowan. Going to have a quick scroll though Google and social media. Failing that I will try Ancestry/GRO etc. We may just end up back at square one though.

This is doing my nut in. On this YouTube video a few people claim that he had just died (and they're dated from about 2 years ago). Another user, Darren, has taken time to comment on each of these claims saying that he's alive and well, living near Bournemouth. What I also spotted on the comments section of that video was this, dated from just last week: "Sadly our Terry Baccino passed away over the weekend. Rest in peace mate!!! :-(" I'll add Terry B's death in. The other one is too sketchy and so I'll keep digging but add a note to the section for now.

Interesting. Where can you find these? I still think the record company messed up. If it was released but never charted then promotion must have been poor.

Half an hour? That's commitment, I hope you like the Ohio Players! So the web says he was born in Youngstown, Ohio. Twitter also says he's a Gemini. The Ohio birth records from that period are rubbish because they only give state but thankfully there is one residency record from his childhood which seems to fit: William M. Beck, living in Kenmore Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio, b. 18 Jun 1953. This is the only one that fits so I'm just going to use it. If it's wrong, an obituary will correct it eventually. Edit: Just found another residency record, this time from the following decade that has this Beck living in Dayton, Ohio, where the group was formed. Confident that this is him now. Interestingly, he was the one who contributed the high pitched screams on Love Rollercoaster, which many thought was a woman at the time. Which leads me to a question I've asked myself before... why was Love Rollercoaster never released in the UK? It went to #1 in the U.S., #2 in Canada and #5 in France. I don't think it was the case that it just didn't chart because 45cat reveals additional releases for Japan, Sweden and Australia – but no UK. Ofc, the RHCPs covered it in the mid-90s and that charted (#7), but the original is superior IMO. Mercury fucked up if you ask me.

Dell Richardson is on Facebook. Sadly not much on his page though. Robert Bailey... okay so his dad's Guardian obit which you've given me is useful. Lists his children (all of whom survived him) as Christine, Joan, Rachel, Robert and Richard. Gives his widow's name as Doris. Sadly no surname. >> Go to Ancestry and punch in Emmanuel McDonald Bailey. His wife was Doris Wells (1927–2017). >> Using the mother's maiden name Wells and Bailey, found three records in the GRO: Christine E A Bailey b. 1948 Islington Robert M Bailey b. 1950 Islington Joan G V Bailey b. 1951 Islington RateYourMusic gives the younger brother as Richard C M Bailey, b. 8 Nov 1955 Guyana, so presumably Rachel was also born there, probably between 1951 and 1955. The family must have moved there at some point. McDonald Bailey did die in his native Trinidad after all. Anyway, cracked it. Cheers.

First guess... Billy Ocean? (on my "to go see" list). Second one... Osibisa? They seem to be absolutely everywhere. They were playing Ronnie Scott's this time last year. Do tell!

Looks fine to me. Dude, he’s 94.

Seems like an urban myth to me. Madonna is the best selling female artist of all time. She’s sold somewhere in between 275 to 300 million records, depending on the source. I believe Rihanna is second at around 250 million.

"John Waddy, a WWII hero, was died at the age of 100" Yup, definitely Sun journalism.

People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive

4/5 of Sam the Sham and The Pharaohs seem to still be alive. The only one who appears to have passed away is David Martin, the bass player, in 1987 following a heart attack. -
People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...
Ulitzer95 replied to Vaagheid's topic in DeathList Forum
Wrong thread, again. This is really only meant for persons whose pages have been edited to say they have died when there are no other sources to back it up. Yuri Orlov's death on Wikipedia is sourced. English report here. And if you copy and paste his Russian name into Google, it returns dozens of news sources about his death. When there's a report, regardless of whether it's from a big newspaper like the Guardian or the Telegraph or a small independent site, then it goes in the corresponding thread according to their notability. We have a scientist thread and an activist one. And if you can't choose where to post it because the person concerned covers various fields, then there's the general Deaths in 2020 thread. -
Colonel John Waddy (wiki), British Army officer, World War II veteran, POW who would go on to become director of the SAS and a writer, dead at 100 according to this museum page on Facebook.

Small Faces. He was a member of Small Faces. One wonders how you get it so bloody wrong all the time when all you’re doing is copying text from Wikipedia.

Updated. Amazed at how quickly you pick these up YW! I wonder if the record label pushed the alternative spelling of "Sweetenham" because it sounds better...

Because Ashkin's death was announced before WEP picked him, meaning that there's a remote chance the player could have learnt of his death before entering the individual in the game. It's discounted as a means of total fairness to other players.

Updated. Be good to get a definite date and an obit to go with. Such a good band and 4/5 of them not making life expectancy. Sad.

Thought the tabloids would have picked up on this one at least... Edna Moore was the terrifying mother-in-law from Mills Hill, Rochdale, who had 15 minutes of fame after forcing an apology from Simon Cowell when she appeared on The X Factor in 2006, aged 86. Anyway, YouTube comments from randoms led me to believe she had died in 2012 or 2015. Not the case. A relative on there confirms she only died in March 2019. This is backed up in the GRO Index: Moore, Edna / ROCHDALE / b. 1920 / d. Q1 2019. So she was 98–99 at the time of death. RIP.

One of the things I've learnt through this project is that it's not easy to mathematically work out someone's age from the higgledy piggledy English school system! I did find him through what you dug out though... I think! Birth registered in the 3rd quarter of 1952: BUCK, PAUL A. Uckfield, Sussex. Now that is the only birth of a Paul Buck occurring in Sussex (which was just one big county before 1974, rather than East and West as it is today). Google says his middle name is Anthony. Has to be him, surely? That makes him an identical age to Strummer pretty much. School entry can also depend upon parental choice I suppose, and then kids can get held behind/skipped ahead too depending on circumstances.
