Confirmation from Liverpool FC. -
Wilfried de Beauclair, German engineer and computer scientist, dead at 108.

James B. Adams, Acting Director of the FBI (1978), dead at 93. John E. Otto, Acting Director of the FBI (1987), dead at 81. Died three days apart. Earliest serving FBI Director is now William H. Webster (1978–1987), turned 96 last month and seemingly fit as a fiddle. Second oldest is his successor, William S. Sessions (1987–1993), will be 90 next month.

Dragutin Zelenović, Prime Minister of Serbia for 11 months in 1991, dead at 91. Also, whilst I'm here... Happy 90th birthday to James Baker, U.S. Treasury Secretary under Reagan, and Secretary of State under Bush Sr.

Apted always jokes about his age, suggesting he could drop dead from a heart attack at any time but has also said he plans to continue with the project even into his 90s if he can. Considering he now lives in the States yet travels across the pond to do shows like this, I think I'd discount him for the next decade.

I see that I’m a little late in spotting this as the search engine suggests a few people already have him in various deadpools but Nick Hitchon from the “Up” film series noted as having terminal throat cancer and in December it was said he was unlikely to see 2020. Still alive of course, but having just watched the Up series, got me wondering about the other participants. Lynn died in 2013. Excluding Nick that leaves 12 others. They’ll all be 70 when the next program airs. Anyone have a hunch on who will be around for another couple of decades and who will be shuffling off sooner rather than later?

Added to Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers. Cheers! Just had a look. There's only one Robert THOMSON (without the P) born in that area in that period according to the GRO. A Robert W J Thomson born in 1941 in Southport. There are others though and he could've been born elsewhere in the country, and there may have been a P in there at one point (would explain alternate spelling being used in places). Shall leave this one for now.

And here are the song writing credits for Snoopy vs Osama (ehhh what??) that confirms his real first name is indeed Francis.

Exactly what I needed. Found the same man in three of these places on Ancestry. Francis John Burdett b. 31 Oct 1949. Also lived in California and Texas by the looks of it... hmm that's a lot of houses! Seems to be living too. Added, cheers!

"R" is up on page one. Just 260 acts left. Losing the will to live here. Not because I don't find this interesting, I love researching stuff but my internet is *painfully* slow right now. It's been like this since lockdown started... Anyways, info needed on the following: The Ramrods – American instrumental rock group, one of their members Eugene Moore. I can't find anything on him. Ezz Reco and the Launchers with Boysie Grant – Jamaican singer Boysie Grant eludes me. There's some stuff on him online, but can't find concrete birth details (born circa 1945). He was rumoured to have died in the 1970s but this was subsequently revealed to be a hoax. The Rockin' Berries – Brum beat group. Member Bobby Thomson was either born in 1941 or 1942. He's still a live as I found a page of him doing a hospital benefit in 2018. The Routers – A surf rock outfit from the States. Same problem as B. Bumble and the Stingers and several other groups of that period – the records were made by session musicians. They came, they recorded, and in some instances were not even credited! Then a "touring band" was used to promote the track. So I don't actually know who played on it, and to top it off I can't find info on two of the key touring members for the single, Lynn Frasier and Al Kait. Interestingly Bill Pitman is still about though, aged 100 years young! The Royal Guardsmen – An American rock band. Couldn't find bio details for any of these members online so I had to do all the work myself through Ancestry. The one member I can't track down is John Burdett – suggesting he wasn't born in Ocala, Florida where the band is from. Marion Ryan with the Peter Knight Orchestra and the Beryl Stott Chorus – Beryl Stott, interestingly the wife of orchestra leader Wally Stott (later Angela Morley after a sex change), and yet little to nothing on her fate. Then I found a link on Google Books. She killed herself in 1967. Then I found the Ancestry record. Can't find her DOB though.

A maths blog was the original source, not Wikipedia. Likely true, it just can't be used as a source on Wikipedia because it isn't considered reliable many of the editors there live in the Stone Age. [citation needed]

As mentioned elsewhere, Harold Reid has died. One hit wonder – #38 in '66.

He was two months shy of 95. I have a sneaking suspicion his time was just up. -
Maybe true, though I recall there being rumours on several instances over several years that he had died (plus many who believed he had in fact died years ago and had been replaced by a double). Suppose they have to announce the death when the leader eventually runs out of doubles.

I have no idea who this "Italian scholar" is – a self appointed expert by the sounds, but before this continues going round and round in circles, I'd just like to remind others on here that we went through this constant stream of rumours, speculation and conspiracies about Kim Jong-il when he was alive. And yet, when he did actually die (suddenly, and from a heart attack) his death was announced by the North Koreans within hours. It is totally against the interests of the North Korean regime to delay or cover up the death of their leader. For their totalitarian regime it actually works in their favour as it elevates the leader to being some kind of an eternal figure for them. A "saint" if you will. That, and the fact that behind closed doors there will be a successor in mind, and if Jong-un dies, the role will simply be carried over to the next person. Right now, that's likely to be his younger sister as his own children are too young.

Anthony M. Cheverton, born Cardiff, 1940 as per the GRO. Cheers!

Thanks so much for all these finds @YoungWillz. Found Tom Long in the GRO – or at least most certainly him – Thomas A. Long b. 1945 (the only Thomas Long from Rugby, Warwickshire born within a five year period. It would match his age on that page you found). Verlane (or Verlaine as it's spelt on the record, probably erroneously) is annoying me, as is Ping Ping. I may message his grandson eventually! Had problems with all the Jamaican groups sadly. Though found birth details in the strangest of places e.g. Companies House! Perry I really wanted because there's a good chance he might die off radar and so having a birth date will allow me to find him retrospectively in the future – thanks! I am blitzing my way through other letters right now. I have 335 acts left overall so vast majority is now done. If you find yourself bored I've done a chunk of acts in the remaining 7 letters and some of them are missing info. Cheers!

Sharadchandra Shankar Shrikhande, Indian mathematician, dead at 102. Blog post. The way mathematicians are covered by the media, he'll be lucky to do better than that.

Death notice for Courant. -
Genuinely shocked this happened off radar. Quite a colourful life. His parents lobotomised him when he was younger (he had what would now be identified as autism). I imagine his obit will be worth a read!
