Yup, got him on my list also. Be interesting to see if Peterson and Akana get as much widespread coverage as Nash did.

Just reading the Telegraph obit for Bette Nash (wiki), world record holder for the longest serving flight attendant, who died earlier this month aged 88. Which got me thinking... is the previous titleholder Iris Peterson (wiki) still alive? Well, her husband's obit from 31st March confirms she is! Will be 103 in October. Iris worked for United Airlines for 60 years from 1946 to 2007.

Bob Rogers (wiki) dead at 97.

I don’t like Abbott but actually feel quite sorry for her given the way she’s been treated. If you want to bin someone, be upfront and honest about it and don’t leave it til the last minute so they’ve no time to appeal. Backhanded, control freak behaviour from Starmer. He’ll only build a long list of enemies from within his own party if he acts like this during his premiership.

Never heard of it. Though I just took a look at the cast list and it seems like MacRae was the last surviving credited cast member following the death of Carole Cook in 2023.

Elizabeth MacRae (wiki) dead at 88. Played Lou-Ann Poovie in "Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.", also had a recurring role in "General Hospital". Only standout film credit was in Francis Ford Coppola's "The Conversation" (1974). That film starred surviving ancients Gene Hackman and Robert Duvall, as well as Harrison Ford and Teri Garr.

Tim’s a really lovely man and widely liked. All I will say is he’s suffered from severe mental health and physical ailments in recent years. I last saw him in October. He’s declined somewhat since then.

Confirmed to me that they’ve both died. Family organising obits themselves supposedly. -
CCHQ? What do they have to do with her disciplinary?
-
In that situation I don’t even think they’ll re-term it. “Father of the House” is the name of the title, regardless of their gender. I’m not sure what they’ll do in the U.S. in the eventual situation where there’s a female President. Some countries and states use “First Gentleman”. Others ignore the husband completely and don’t include them in the lineage of First Lady title holders.
-
Doesn’t work like that. Father of the House has a function. “Mother” does not.
-
JAbbott the Hutt still hasn’t announced her retirement. Not sure why she’s holding off.
-
Mother of the House isn’t a real title. It’s just something Harriet Harman coined for herself so she felt special.

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...

I saw the same death notice. The death dates, age, and family members do not match. Also, as OoO correctly said, the couple lived in Dorset. He's long since stopped living in Ireland so unlikely RIP.ie would be punishing a death notice for him. -
Jeremy Hunt will most likely lose his seat. Johnny Mercer also likely. Jacob Rees-Mogg and Penny Mordaunt are unlikely according to internal polling I've been told about.

Lord Leith (Labour) b. 1947 ms 2004 did this just a few days ago to avoid getting thrown out. The list may be indicative of illness, or merely just members being busy elsewhere in their lives or disillusioned with the House. However, 18 out of 28 of them are 80+ so worth keeping an eye on.

Jimmy Carter please. Just for lolz.

I think you should organise it, diego.

Oh FFS, can you please stop making a tit of yourself?

Environmentalist L. Martin Griffin (wiki) dead at 103.

No idea. If her 107th birthday happens in July she should appear on the Oldest in Britain site. Though she may be in the GRO. @Master Obit
-
Jo Churchill MP and Dame Eleanor Laing MP both announced today that they're standing down at the election. Laing has cancer, Churchill at least did in the past. Worth keeping an eye on both.

Not my favourite Olympic Fanny. That distinction goes to German alpine skier Fanny Chmelar.
