According to my list it's France's Jean Turco (b. 19 December 1917), though oldest politician is surely China's Song Ping (b. 30 April 1917).

Updated the list of people with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to include all living 1933 and 1934 births, as well as James Hong (b. 1929), who received a star several months after I made the original list.

Aye ok. Foxtrot Oscar and go play your failed gag on Cash.
-
I got several virus type pop ups when I opened that link.

Had expected an obit by now in the form of a Mirror or Metro style article. I don't think he's the type to get a full Guardian or Telegraph style obit, so looking like he could end up as a List of the Lost name in the DDP.

The reference looks like it could be credible but is a "take my word for it" style reference that cites an article without linking to anything. Probable that Olympedia looked into it and couldn't find anything to back it up.

Video of Thelma Ruby from 6 months ago. She turned 99 last week. She's easily going to live into her 100s.

Thanks @Sinbabad. The Voice have now removed the original article about Neil Flanigan being the last WWII vet from the Caribbean and replaced it with a general piece about his death. There were 27 years between the end of WWI and WWII. It's "only" been 12 years since we lost the last WWI veteran in 2012. The last living WWI vet from the Caribbean died in 2008, 16 years ago. That still leaves us with a gap of 11 years. Worth noting that whilst 15,600 people from the West Indies served in WWI, only 10,000 did so during WWII, meaning that there is a smaller pool for this conflict. So what do we reckon? 5 years maybe until the last Caribbean vet goes?

People like to exaggerate ages of their relatives, especially in Indian and African communities?

No, there are loads of records for her on Ancestry. Definitely born on February 13th, 1925 in Chicago.

Iraqi-born Israeli author Sami Michael (wiki) dead at 97. Mentioned by @arghton before. -
Barbara Wallace's IMDb page has been updated by none other than Barbara herself to include a bio, some new professional headshots, and the information we've been after... her DOB! She was born on December 19, 1935, meaning she'll turn 89 this year, not 101!

So there are just 4 traditional African rulers born in the 1920s still with us. 3 from Nigeria, and 1 from Ghana Latest updates for all 4 of them: Igwe Kenneth Onyeneke Orizu III New photos of him from 17th March. Looks fine. However, his wife, HRH Lolo Orizu, died on Thursday! Gundonaa Samata Abudu Video uploaded to TikTok of a news report from June 2023. Looks fine. Arubiefin IV, Owa of Idanre New photos from his 97th birthday celebrations from yesterday, 30th March. Looks fine. Sayyadi Abubakar Mahmoud Usman New photos of him here from 20th March. Looks fine.

Yeah, he's dead. News piece here. Other news sources from Facebook here and here. Can't find a date of death but earliest mention I can find of his death is on 2nd March. Funnily enough most releases say he was 105.

It's Peter Currell Brown (Currell is a middle name). He was born on 4 June 1936 in Colchester, so not 88 quite yet.

Presumably your pick seeing as you’re hellbent on building teams that won’t get QOs?
-
On closer inspection, that appears to be a different person. Family tree here. Leonard Melluish and Winifred Marie Johnson (1916–1976).

EDIT: Ignore. It was a Wiki vandal. -
Not sure how you can say it was "overdue". He's in the remake of The Color Purple which literally just came out at the cinema.
-
That is some excellent work. Well done!

Just had a look. Different person. Their birth date was 22 Jan 1921.

March 2017 according to StarTiger. I'm sure there are several happy birthday posts on Facebook and Twitter after then but not sure how reliable they are.

@Master Obit, another one that's puzzled me. An historic edit to the page of cricketer Mary Johnson (wiki) said she died on 17 July 2017, aged 92. I couldn't match her up with anyone in the GRO, but there's a good chance she married and took on a new surnamed. Also, her real first name, Winifred, could have been dropped in later records, making her harder to find as Mary is a very common name for women born in the 1920s!
