Well worth the bump.

Quote tweeted from The Immortals thread. A name I want to bring back into discussion: Edmund White (wiki). When I first joined the forum in 2008 he was being hotly debated, owing to a series of health problems. As the post above says, he suffered two strokes and a heart attack in a matter of months in 2012, though he's had more than that I believe. He's in the "how the fuck is he still breathing?!" bracket for me. 85 in January and morbidly obese. Looked pretty awful in this 2020 pic. Last publication was in 2023, has since gone quiet.

Stolen from Africa?

Think she was the only living Albanian centenarian with an English Wikipedia page?

Was waiting for the inevitable sandwich remark!

Leah Kunkel (wiki), American singer and attorney, dead at 76. Sister of Mama Cass.

James McMahon gets a Guardian obit. Cause of death confirmed as soft tissue sarcoma, a rare form of cancer.
-
Sir Kit McMahon (wiki), Aussie-born British banker who was Deputy Governor of the Bank of England from 1980 to 1986, dead at 97. Obits: Times, Telegraph As his 2 successors are dead, the earliest living Deputy Governor is now Rupert Pennant-Rea (born 1948, wiki). Whilst I'm here, also worth noting that Lord Mervyn King (wiki), Governor from 2003 to 2013 (and arguably the most famous one), is 77 in March and still obese.

Also an apocalyptic evangelist crank who wrote books about the end of times.

Re-read my post, and if it still doesn't make sense use Google Translate.

Earl Holliman was the last surviving cast member of Forbidden Planet. That's assuming that Jimmy Thompson (IMDb, born 1923) is deceased. He seems to have faded into obscurity.
-
Herbert Wahler (wiki) may be dead. Annoying for a lot of people who have him in deadpools. Nothing concrete, but there is a message on this Wiki talk page from someone claiming that he was their neighbour and that he died in 2023.

Helen Gallagher dead at 98. DDP pick.

Hahahahahahahaha! You must be kidding, right? I used to suggest names, and they'd get ignored every single time by "the Committee". I'll submit another shadow list... maybe. I'm on 13 hits this year. DL is on 5.

Many of the names you've scored thus far are not on your original list. Cheating in deadpools is really poor.

Why Soros? Seems like a very active nonagenarian to me. Murdoch is surely a safer shout? He's noticeably slowing down and seldom makes appearances. Lots of serious illnesses in the last decade, if the Vanity Fair article on him is to be believed.

Well I said "I expect" and "but who knows". As @Master Obit correctly pointed out the other day, at that age it's all up in the air. Look at Germany's Charlotte. She was one of the healthiest looking supercentenarians, and she went before many of the living corpses. Similarly, I'm shocked that Ethel Caterham has outlived Tinniswood.

Lord Lyndon Harrison (wiki) dead at 77. Labour MEP (1989–1999) and member of the House of Lords (1999–2022).
-
Radio silence since his June 2023 interview. 96 in February. Would support his inclusion on the 2025 list.

Yeah, don’t complicate it further for the non-Brits on here TOC.

Wrong thread. He was a life peer, not a hereditary peer, so not an aristocrat. Not really a politician either though (despite being a member of the Conservative Party) so academics thread would’ve been best suited.

Thanks for this. Yeah, seems legit though the poster is wrong about her being the last.

Thanks YW. Very popular guy. 100s of tributes on Facebook from what I can see. From what I've read he died yesterday (23rd) from cancer. Can't find an age or DOB but that's no sweat. When he eventually appears in the GRO, I'll be able to source a year of birth at least.

It's not really something you train for, like a marathon or an exam. You're starting to sound like one those cranks from the 110 Club forum.

Notable Victims of the Russo-Ukrainian war

We'll see. Valery Solodchuk (wiki) is reportedly the Russian general killed.
