Thanks for all your support guys and gals. Before I start the ball rolling for 2010, I'm going to test the water with a proposal for an extra bonus point situation. It would be called 1st and last and it would be a 2 point bonus for any hit on January 1st and/or December 31st. If most of you think it's a good idea then I'll put it in, but if you think its bobbins, I'll leave it out. Also, if any of you have any suggestions/issues for me to ponder over either for next year or beyond, then let me know...

I think the lack of celebrity deaths (or rumors of celebrities being gravely ill or dying) have played a part. Seriously, the only major celebrity to have died in the last few months was Edward Woodward -- and even he didn't receive much media coverage in the United States! (though that's probably b/c he's much more well known in the UK than in the US -- in the US, he's probably best known for starring in the TV series The Equalizer back in the 1980s). I also think that there hasn't been much news of celebrities being gravely ill lately. All the celebrities who were expected to die (Farrah Fawcett, Ted Kennedy, Patrick Swayze, etc.) have already died. I know Dennis Hopper is ill right now as is Maura Tierney, but are their illnesses terminal? I have those two as potential picks for 2010 -- I'm probably one of the very few out there that believes that somehow, Maura Tierney is not going to make it. Nothing against her, as I think she's a fine actress and will be happy to hear if she fully recovers, but I have this gut instinct that she's gonna be the next young tragic celebrity death. (Either her, or we will have a "shocking, unexpected" celebrity death in his/her 20s; potential picks include Amy Winehouse, Lindsay Lohan, and Pete Doherty.) Things have grinded to a halt in the world of death pools. Alas, life goes on. November is Deaths Vacation, It was like this last year aswell It's like a meeting of the minds isn't it?

Wierd thing was I was talking to my brother the other day about Woods and confidently posited that he would never win another major. My brother disagreed but thought that Jack Nicklaus's record would remain however... -

How is this possible when Christopher Lloyd is 71? different Christopher Lloyd... Mea culpa! Didn't check - just made the connection in my head that David Lloyd worked on "Taxi" in which the more famous Christopher Lloyd starred, so that was the Christopher Lloyd being reffered to in the article. It didn't occur to me that he too is a senior citizen these days! To be fair, whenever I saw the credits for Frazier show the name Christopher Lloyd, I always assumed it was the actor...

I can remember how annoying that was. One moment the media declared him dead, the other he was alive again, then dead again. It just seemed to go back and forth, I am really glad that something like that never hapened again. That was to keep the Israelis on their toes... -

A bit late but worth mentioning... Actor Timothy Bateson has died aged 83. He has a place in sitcom history as he played the character that would become Basil Fawlty in an episode of Doctor in the House in 1971, written by John Cleese...

If Adam Adamant Lives is better than Doctor Who I'll eat my face... A somewhat nasty post, so here's a return for you: I have it on good authority that Mr Harper rather enjoyed himself when filming in Thailand a few years ago. Know what I'm saying...

Rather embarassingly, so did I. I say embarrassingly as I used to work with them quite a fair bit (as I work in the travel industry) & always thought the same as you... I thought it was a holiday brochure for prostitutes... I know where my coat is...
