Kirky D? Kirk Douglas. Will we recognise the personal pick when we see it or will you let us know when all teams are in? Of course. So many names! It makes me dizzy....

Surely, the DL is THE place for morbid thoughts???? If they can lock Robbie Keane up instead of Gerrard and throw away the key, I'll be happy. What have you got against him? Oh never mind...

I've made room for Wisdom.... It means my team for 2009 will not have any of the eight survivors from 2008, which means at least 1/2 of them will peg it in the next 12 months..

Llewellyn is/was in a hospice, which was good enough for me, they don't let just anyone in. His liver is so ravaged by booze that it might even give up the ghost before the cancer gets him. I went for Richard as well, as I'm trying to stick to my policy of giving younger players a chance to impress (a bit like Exeter City). Wendy Richard isn't getting better anyway, she has terminal cancer and has just temporarily stopped getting worse. Shih Ming Teh, Jack Ramsay, Ian Cundy and Rosemary Pitman have all been booted out of the first team after failing to take their chances to score this season. I think you should reconsider leaving out Cundy. I left out Pinter because of his slow progress and then look what happened... Richard is out (at the moment) and I can't seem to find a place for Wisdom. Like you DDT, I've got a youngish squad, which can be a risky strategy... Wisdom is a cert, TMIB, have a heart and let him in. Another thing, I would have had James Bevel and Ray Deakin in my team, but they both died too early, which is lucky for me as neither of them have managed to get UK obits. It doesn't exactly bode well for the rest of my Z listers. Yes but he's worth peanuts isn't he? And every man and his dog will have him in their team. Far better to pick someone who'll peg it but only a few others will have and be worth more points into the bargain... Actually my 2009 team is shaping up similar to the 2008 one. Namely about half a dozen or so dead certs and then the rest are hunches, educated guesses and hopefully a couple of uniques (I was dead lucky with the couple that went this year as I had no idea of their health). I'm going to play safe with my joker however...

At least is wasn't psychotic enough to get him sectioned, so no white jacket required... These footballers, always the same, it's just a shame, that's all... I'm not sure its "these footballers"...its more a case of "these Liverpudlians" .....all a bunch of hooligans if you ask me I notice you're from Sheffield, now that is a black irony, considering what happened in 1989... now thats a little below the belt ......I may currently live in Sheffield , but I am a Cockney through and through....and hence feel smug to be so perfect ! I take it back grobler and admire your fortitude of being a 'soft southerner' oop noorth!

Yes, I suspect you more than the other DDP competitors are wary of such low hanging fruit Maryport. You certainly got your hands burnt. Still, you take a chance and see what happens. Did James L. Bevel get a pukka obit BTW?

Let's hope for her father's sake the Funeral March notes are played in the right order...

Thought I'd bump this thread up in readiness for the annual declaration of teams for 2009...

Oh go on...you're doing so well! It's been a splendid year for DDP. I get 12 hits and still end up in 6th place! A bit miffed that Banshees overtook me. I would have liked to have matched my 2006 placing, but I can't really grumble. I'm not going to congratulate DDT yet (don't want to put the mockers on it), but I'm sure Football Fan is at this moment applying Brasso to the crown in readiness to hand it over after two years...

2008 will be best known as the year the economy went down the toilet...

Ideas And Possibilities For 2009
themaninblack replied to Anubis the Jackal's topic in DeathList Forum
Wendy Richards is now reportedly not dying. In fact a lot of people think it was all a big put on to get publicity for her wedding. Yes she has cancer and yes it may well have re-occured but she is nowhere near the 'few weeks to live' status given in November. (Bet she'll die tomorrow now just to prove me wrong.) I think Wendy and Liz will still be around for a while . The skill is picking them in the correct year . Not sure 2009 is thar year . Tony H however is a different ball game.... Yes, I'm starting to have doubts about Wendy Richard too... -
But hopefully not for a while. I dont think he looked too bad at half time when the cameras were on him . Looked poorly , for sure , but certainly not a 2008 hit . Good 2009 chance obviously.... It felt strange seeing him so frail. He'd make a worthy number 1 for DL 2009. He'll be even frailer after watching the latest 'performance' from his beloved Newcastle United.... (for them, not for him)

I was kind of right in spirit but not in choice but I'm sticking with Oscar for someone else for the chattering classes to chat about before the end of what's been a remarkable year...

I know f**k all about football - do I need to? You know that is exactly what Steve McClaren said in his interview for the England job...
