Well folks, it's Christmas time again (has it really been that long, it's seems to get nearer every year, doesn't it - that's enough schmaltz!) Let's have a look at last yuletide and it was a bleak one for music, with the deaths of Ike Turner, Oscar Peterson, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Dan Fogelburg, Joe Dolan and the DJ Kevin Greening... Actors Anton Rogers and Pat Kirkwood had their final calls... There were only four DDP hits: Jimmy Langley (for the 'pus!), the aforementioned Fogelburg, Nicholas Kao Se Tseien (the oldest priest ever) and French novelist Julien Gracq. There were no Deathlist deaths at Christmas, the nearest being Ian Smith on 20th November... Who's going to pop it under the miseltoe this time?

Bliss? She was a nobody. Michael Crichton & Reg Varney were much better known than her. Varney is the biggest name to go since Makeba, but BC Alum won't have heard of him because ol'Reg wasn't American. I am hoping that if ANYONE on the DDP dies, whether it be Norman Wisdom or Patrick Swayze or whomever, that they do it in the next 10 days, otherwise I'll have a nervous breakdown. Please please, please Castro, Sharon, Thatcher et al just last 40 more days or so. Ta. Knowing your luck Octopus, there'll a flood of deaths that turn the DDP on it's head....On Dec 30th...

Not really, says Dr Godot. Your bollock cancer is one of the most successfully operable if caught quickly. They just whip it off and ask for a small deposit for the sperm bank, just in case. I believe it has a 90-odd per cent recovery rate. So if you're going to get cancer anywhere, a testicle is not a bad bet. Of course if you start thinking you have three bollocks or a particularly large, if peculiarly shaped, bollock you might be leaving it a bit late. I guess he should stay out of the defensive wall in future but otherwise I'm sure he'll be as right as rain. Any excuse for a wank, eh?

Seems like a safer bet than Susan Atkins if you ask me... It's - just about - mid-November and he's cancer riddled and living in a hospice. People like this are the reason we need reserves on our team lists. I don't think he'll make 2009. Hmmm could be a close run thing, but he may yet be the George Moore of 2009...
