It's really quite remarkable - combined age, 330, yet still here 90 years on. They said 10 years ago - no chance, no veterans. Now they're saying almost certainly. With men like Patch it's not difficult to see him going 5 more years at this rate. It's almost hard to believe. I thought Patch looked very well for his age. And Stone probably would've tried walking but for his recent broken hip. The fact that he can go in for major surgery at 108 & still attend... incredible. Choules, too, was looking good too. But Patch is remarkable - as the last veteran of the trenches (and Paesschandale) anywhere in the world, he truly is a piece of living history. It's fitting that three of the remaining survivors are from each wing of the British Armed Forces: Army, Navy and Airforce...

President (recumbent) Barack Obama

Interesting to see how many (if any) black cabinet ministers are chosen by Obama. His very first appointment raised a few eyebrows. Another Zionist.... -

Is this a question? A witty comment perhaps? Is there some irony I'm missing? What the f**k does religion have to do with any of this? Oh, first post, sorry Wobbles. Welcome to Deathlist where anything goes, even poor grammar, non-existent punctuation, religious bigotry and barely disguised racial overtones. We're a broad church, or should I say mosque. being from london many are undercover Halibut terrorist Just as all those Irish in London in the 1970s IRA card-carriers? -
Summer Olympic Deaths/Dead Medallists

Larry James has died. Picked by two teams on the DDP. It's a party pooper bonus for the two teams if he gets a UK obit. If that happens, Wormer He's a Dead Man etc goes into 2nd place... -

See, I don't get that. What pissed all the girls off about Sarah Palin? I get the religious zealot part, but that's common in the Republican Party. Overall, I kinda liked her. She was like the "approachable" cheerleader in high school. My problem with Obama, now that he's won, is the damned near across the board "empowerment" (meaning license to say racist stuff out loud and celebrate as if this were a "race-only" issue) actions of black people. Hell, my freaking accountant is black and is telling me he's "up on me" now. I sorta mentioned that I was considering not paying my bill and changing firms and that changed the conversation considerably, but, damn, and condemn me to hell if you want, the word "uppity" has tried to spring from my throat. It hasn't, but not without a struggle. In my opinion all this election has proved is something that most of us moderate white Americans have known for years; black people are intrinsically racist. Because women don't like other women in the public eye. Reality TV shows regularly have women voting off other women. There are still racial issues in America, which you have demonstrated TH... -
and don't forget #8, being one of the robotic crew of Red Dwarf. #9. He was the original choice to play Thomas Jerome Newton in 'The Man Who Fell To Earth'.

I wouldn't take what he says too seriously. He was massively pro-War/Bush, so he's changed his tune quicker than a Prog Rock concept album...

CNN will start trying to be first and calling the election around 8pm central or so, I imagine, but unless it's a landslide California needs to come in. A lot of states are polling late this time as well. Texas isn't closing their polls until 8pm central time and we're in the middle. It will be late for you. I'm prepared to wait all night... -

It's an old law - dates back to the mid 1800s. In a lot of states early voting is limited and some counties don't have it at all. In my county, for example, you had to get to a county courthouse between the hours of 8am - 5pm to vote early. Wasn't working for a lot of people. The only reason I voted early was because I was taking a vacation day for something else. It allows people to put a little ceremony into the election, and there's really nothing wrong with that. Now there is something wrong with CNN trying to call the election at noon... What we should all do, though, is live in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire. We finish at 10pm in Britain. Why do the polls close so early in the US? -
So am I Octopus. I'll never forget his turn as Penny's Dad in Just Good Friends. And in the 'Indiana Jones' parody Terry's Chocolate Orange ad... Appeared in the first series of Doctor Who too, in The Aztecs... RIP
