I think its a good film, if a little dated. Huh! Kids today eh?

That is very sad. It looks grim and I wouldn't like to be in his family's position, or indeed any that have to cope with such a trauma. It would be remarkable if he makes 2009, but after that...

We should leave it to Phantom...he'll be there at the very end!

Archbishop Christodoulos has decided to stay at home and not bother with any more chemotherapy. In your own time...

Are you there?

He should down in history with the likes of Francis Drake and Captain Cook. A true great...

"ICI'm dead" That's quite a conundrum you find yourself in, Cap'n! His avatar could always be of another 'Captain of Industry' that might conk out any time soon. Jack Lyons perhaps...

Ideas And Possibilities For 2009

That's if she makes it... -
Normal service resumed.. Yeah, Suharto...

So this is the list of 50 candidates which the DL committee will hope to overcome last year’s disappointing 10. But who will be the first?

where's the instructions for setting up a vote? New topic Poll options then just have a go - I did it once - it a bit of a pain but its worth it in the long run. Tried it now, couldn't do it. [ie setting up a new poll in the same thread] Needs a moderator...
-
Do not have moderating powers to do that, but Football Fan et al can. I think we should keep this as an ongoing thread (if the poll can be reset, that is) rather than having a dozen or so polls littered about. It would also clear up any gaffes, such as putting up a poll while not realising someone else had died! Suharto. It's a no-brainer...

F.U.C.K.I.N.G. H.E.L.L. That was sheer bloody luck people! I'll tell you a story. I came across Rowan Ayers on Wikipedia (or something) because of his son, Kevin, of which I'm a big fan. Saw that he was this maverick producer of Late Night Line Up and thought 'He'll get an obit' and snaffled it under my stetson. I had no idea he was ill, but he was old (late 80s) and I was looking for someone that was late 80s rather than early 90s, because it would be one more point and there was a few deaths last year (Smith, Bergman) of the late 80s variety. He nearly didn't make it at all, but that's another story...I came across this Australian podcast (I'll post the link later) which was an interview from 2006 and he sounded a really interesting guy, so in he went... Interview from 2006 (about half-way through) So TMIB. Tell us how it felt when you knew Rowan Ayers had died? What were you doing at that very moment? Has it changed your life? Can you still get around the supermarket without being recognised? I'll be on the cover of the Sunday Times Supplement before you can say meimnotjealous!

That must be the earliest 1st death for a while (Lou Rawls?). Time to close this thread and open the new one....

Yes....please to be giving all your secrets away. Much abliged. You're doing well enough as it is, especially for a rookie! 3 hits in 10 days, not a bad start for both of us...

Who Do You Think Will Win The Democrat And Republican Nominations?
themaninblack replied to Windsor's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Well said, HCW; they're all about as bad as each other, in the end. Yeah, why should it concern us what poxy President they elect, it's not as if they have any great influence over Britain do they... -
Well done. Why Roy Scheider? Good God, he's not another one is he? Do I have to give my secrets away? (Look in his Wikipedia entry, then look at the entry for what he's suffering with and draw your own conclusion!)
-
Yes. I know now... See The Dead thread for my astonished reaction. What a Start!

Eh? Whose this 'other' one which has fallen? I thought it was only George Moore?

Who Do You Think Will Win The Democrat And Republican Nominations?
themaninblack replied to Windsor's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Hmm..I'm not too keen on either of them, but Clinton will probably win the nomination, unless Edwards can make a late burst. Don't forget the Republicans too. I think we're in a win-win situation here, becuase no-one is going to be as bad as Dubya.. That particular contest is wide open... -
Yep, as does this brief snippet too. Tucked away wasn't it? He'll get proper obits though, he's regarded as being 'up there' among the greats along with Piggott and Richards. Right, time to change my signature...

Took the news well then! There's life after the Bill...there's Eastenders...

Birthdays, Births, Anniversaries ,etc ...for 2008

Dead How perverse, talk about not sticking the dough on the favourite! Moore was a very late addition to my team, at the expense of Edwin Morgan. I think I made the right decision...
