The Next Piper At The Gates Of Heaven
themaninblack replied to themaninblack's topic in DeathList Forum
Daevid Allen's youngest son has announced on FB that Daevid died this morning. The Guardian has the UK obit... http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/mar/13/gong-founder-daevid-allen-has-died-aged-77 Amongst the tributes is this from music journalist veteran Everett True: Which is bollocks, frankly. -

That UK Election Thing

Cameron has the ace card of political balance in his hand. Broadcasters won't be allowed to leave out the governing party as it would be against electoral law. Ah well, it's an American thing anyway and that only works there because they only have two parties. This could have consequences in the next parliament however. Should the Tories hobble along as a minority government they'll get shit all done because the opposing parties hate their guts and will stop them passing any laws. Interesting times ahead... -
Don't worry, I will be updating this month!

This update doesn't not include anything from March, hits or otherwise...

Funnily enough, CBS Action are right now showing perhaps the 'Star Trek' episode, City on the Edge of Forever....

Jeez, I was scared for a few minutes here & there, but decades??? ... What I meant is, the show has been scaring kids for decades, AKA it has been DOING IT for decades. Not that the kids were scared for decades. One of the prime candidates for DeathList glory, Denis Healey once said "if you're in a hole, stop digging!"

Great. DL are using the picture I was going to use...

Yes, indeed, the drought is over on that score. Strange we've had to wait until the end of the second month for it...

Two points of added information, off the top of my head: 1) Plummer is still acting full time, he has four or five films either filming or in post-production currently. 2) He really, really, really hates The Sound of Music. For Julie Andrews most people just remember her from Sound of Music or Mary Poppins whereas Plummer's been working solidly on at least a couple of movies a year playing a variety of roles. But because he plays a variety of roles you don't generally automatically see him and think "oh that's the guy from Sound of Music". Andrews usually plays characters where there's a passing reference to Sound of Music or Mary Poppins, or she's parodying either character. Yeah, but she had a spell of getting fed up with that and countered the cute image by getting her tits out on screen, didn't she? That was in 1981 in the film S.O.B. I thought it was Victor/Victoria?

Curiously enough, BBC Four showed his Top of the Pops appearance with the band from February 1980 yesterday... -
If he emerges from his coffin at the wake that would be kinder surprise!

My lot once went 2-0 down, fought back to equalise in injury time, then immediately lost to an own goal. There was another - horrible - day against Gretna when they managed to concede three goals in about as many minutes. S'cuse my ignorance, who are your "lot" again? I feel your pain either way. Shrewsbury went over 92 and a half minutes without scoring and then bagged two in 67 seconds. We'd have climbed to 16th (a height we haven't reached all season), if we'd have hung on for the win. Partick Thistle. A small fish in a small pond (hey, I'd even be wary of Fort William in the Cup!). Oh, right, Billy Connolly's team as well, aren't they? He regularly made a joke that casual football fans thought they were called Partick Thistlenil. Billy Connolly is Sellick, surely?
