I've postponed my seventh success pole vote because I really wanted to give this one some thought. At risk of somebody dropping dead this weekend I've really put this one into perspective. I've voted for Pollack enough, and the same goes for Felt. I figure if I don't guess either of them at least they are hits for my DDP team. I just voted for Yitzhak Shamir previously, and I got it wrong. I reported Michael Foot's death which was a hoax, and it would be too ironic for him to be the very next number. I'm now left with three names. (Solzhenitsyn) (Pincher) and (Wisdom). The whole selective ordeal is very complicated and I mention 'Solzhenitsyn' because this year it seems there has been a pattern with (the frail) facing their final show down a little sooner then one might think. Overall I've made my decision ... I'm going to say the committee did a good job selecting Chapman Pincher.

This might be a good time for me to open a up a little bit. I have to be honest. At this day in age, I consider myself one of the irreplaceable veterans of Deathlist.net (and that's not bragging) and my contribution quality has dramatically rejuvenated over the passed three years. I don't consider myself intellectual at the literary standard of 'A Godot' for example, and to tell you the truth, 'I shouldn't be at his level' because I'm not a (50 year old journalist) and I really think that makes perfect sense. For my experience in the world I feel my knowledge in most categories is pretty f****n great for who I am. I'll be the first person to admit, there are regulars on this website who probably know a lot more sh*t then I do, and with their education among other things, it would be a complete disgrace for them not too. I feel at some limit the people here might underestimate my intellectuality and 'who knows' half of that reason 'is probably my fault' but look, I'm not going to be the savior of everybody's bad first impressions. I'll just take it as it comes. These days 'if a golden age discussion turns up' I look back at some of my original posts (Mainly 2005\early\2006) and it scares the living sh*t out of me. In most cases it basically means you have 3 - 6 months to live. His obituary value really isn't anything to scream about but he will certainly be another contributer in this category. I recently asked myself, what is it about drummers? Is it the loudness of the drums which concludes to such a relentless statistic of drummer obituaries? In my view the year (2008) is really the first competitively selective year ever. The scoreboard total at the years end will accumulate higher then any other. The most is 109 by 'Meet Your Maker' but 'no offense because everybody did it' that was with steroids. It's very possible that impressive total will be surpassed based on just raw selection. DDP has seen it's Bonds ... Now where is A - Rod? Time waits for no one.

Senator. Arlen Specter, who I've already mentioned, has been given the news that his Hodgkins Lymphoma has returned. About 25% of the population diagnosed with the illness die from it. Specter is near 80, and has already had bypass surgery which he barely survived. Specter also had a misdiagnosed brain tumor which he was told to be fatal. After battling so many illnesses it provokes one to question why it's recurrences never fold.

I think there are a lot of responsible people in this world who are gun owners and don't go in parking lots and play target practice. Deadsox makes a valuable point stating how 'the majority' of gun owners are not always ..in so many words ... 'Phil Spector' I'm not a gun owner so I really have no idea what the procedure is of becoming one. A rational law in my mind would be to prevent people with serious criminal records from obtaining a sniper rifle. Is that already a law? I hope so. As I've already said 'it's not the guns themselves' which trigger people to go Defcon 1. The reason is because people are not healthy. If the mind ain't healthy ... the actions aren't healthy either.
