    Are You A Post Whore?

That's the nicest thing anyone's said to me for ages.
  2. Yes, I did. I think my favourite line from the show was when they were interviewing the guy who own the body removal company and he was talking about the first removal he ever did. He said that he had spoken with some of the neighbours and one of them had said how the deceased had been such a good friend etc., and the removal guy was like: well then, how come you didn't notice he was dead for, like, nine weeks? In fact, last night there were several pseudo-docs about death and dead bodies on the telly. There was the one mentioned by Lady Die on Channel 4 (which showed goo, seepage, and bugs, but no bodies), there was one called Dead Man Talking: an Autopsy Special on C5 (which, admittedly, was all about forensics and didn't really show any bodies at all), and there was also Death Detective on BBC3 (which showed bodies and body parts, though never the face of the deceased), which is a series where a real-life pathologist is followed around, and filmed conducting different autopsies in order to discover cause of death, etc. It struck me, watching this last programme, that it appeared to be pretty much the same thing and when G von Hagens performed the public autopsy on C4 a few years ago, but GvH almost got arrested, whereas the Upright British Pathologist did not. Either times have changed, or there was some sort of aesthetic difference between the two. Maybe it was because for the GvH autopsy there was a live audience present. This programmes are like buses. None for ages, then three come along at once. Also Silent Witness was on last night. Only fictional, but lots of good autopsy scenes.
  3. Did anyone see that prog on Channel 4 last night about the guys who clean up after people have been found dead? They specialise in cleaning up after someone's lain undiscovered for days/weeks. The first sign to neighbours is usually the sight of lots of flies inside the flat/house. Lots of lovely maggots & body fluids.

    Ariel Sharon

    Are You A Post Whore?

Hope he does. And the message for 3000 posts should be "I sleep in a single bed in my bedroom at my Mum's house".

I have relatives who are Seventh Day Adventists who live in Bridgewater & they love it. Mind you they don't drink alcohol (or even tea & coffee) or smoke or eat meat or fornicate etc etc
  11. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM ME TOO! How's the Phantomette?

    Near misses 2006

Yeah, treble drat! I was thinking of having him in my DDP, along with someone else who's name escapes me for the moment... Put me out of my misery, themaninblack. Who's that on your avatar?

    The Kings Of Tonga

We are all only 4 people removed from knowing everyone on the planet. (I think that was the correct figure.) Does that include Kevin Bacon?

    UK Heatwave

We only seem to be able to cope with grey weather in the UK. If it turns yellow or white everything grinds to a halt. I don't understand why people head to the beach when it gets hot & then just sit on the sand. Hardly anyone seems to go in the sea to cool off.

    UK Heatwave

Wonder if the current heatwave will see off anyone on the list? The elderly are very vulnerable in hot weather.

    Arthur C Clarke

Bob Marley's father was born in Minehead. Not many people know that. Is there a blue plaque on the outside of the house?
  18. My Mum told me about money spiders too. Hope that helps.

    Arthur C Clarke

I saw the house where he was born (in Minehead, Somerset) last week. I actually thought he was already dead!

    Princess Diana

A bucket head-shaped ghost sort of looking over its right shoulder with an annoyed look on its face, if I'm looking at the same bit of the pic as you? Although it's possible you may not interpret exactly as I have... Looks like some kind of evil sprite.

Thankfully, I don't live there. Taunton's where you'll find me, if you go looking that is. Didn't go there....

    Princess Diana

That looks like a man stroking a mop. Either that, or she had a pudding bowl haircut just before her final journey. Hmmmm.... Or, maybe that's the hand of Paris's finest crime scene barber just fluffing it up a bit for the cameras; after all, the French wouldn't want such a style disaster to be forever associated with their capital city. What's that thing in the top right-hand corner? Looks like a ghostly face. Spooky.

    Holiday Thread

I strolled around for days with a big ' I'm Six ' sign above my head, waving a home-made DL flag - but alas, I saw no sign of Lady Die. (I was questioned by soft-talking, white-coated people a few times. I asked if they were Lady Die, but they responed to this by glancing to each other and slowly shaking their heads. Strange folks in these parts, eh? I managed to fight them off though, so I'll be able to keep a look out for any other DL members that care to venture into Somerset.) Sorry I missed you Lady Die. You must live in Burnham-on-Sea. My other half wanted to go there (for some inexplicable reason) but when we arrived we realised it was a huge mistake & left immediately.
