Nor could any member of the Royal Family, for that matter.

Who is 'the authority' ?
-
She's no celebrity, sir.

It's actually "miserable failure". And that's an old, old Google joke. I've heard it about 1 million billion times before. Sorry.

stop being a stats freak.

The name is Hawking. And I too wish for his death. [Threads merged. Boudicca]

42? Isn't that a bit old for Jacko?
-
Rod Stewart. He is well past the sell by date IMHO and is just bloody annoying.

Maybe if England wins the next nine on the trot your argument would have some merit. Be sure to let me know when they do. I wasn't under the impression that for the last decade and a half Australia was considered to be England's "master" and that the balance has now shifted the other way. Or is that just your personal opinion of how things were? And as for Rugby, well, I'm moving to New Zealand before the next world cup, because it's going to be theirs next time. Remind me when Wales last won anything of consequence. -

I will now confirm that all Aussies are to be constantly mocked for the next two years. Not only did we beat them in the Rugby world cup final, we have now wrested the Ashes back from their grasp. Clearly, they are losing their aura of sporting invincibility and we are once again their masters. And it's payback time for all the "arrogant Pommie" comments and such. -

176 for 5. I think England are now marginal favourites to win. But the way this series has gone, you can never tell............. -
It's also interesting to note that George H.W. Bush has a fair chance of dying while his son is still President, as he will be almost 85 years old by the time W. finally steps down in 2009. If this happens, surely it will be the first time that a President would have to pay tribute to a former President at their funeral, who also happened to be his father? This would be an interesting speech to observe. Well, for me it would be, anyway.

We don't control the weather, you know. Anyway, you guys were served in the 3rd test by the weather, so what are you complaining about???? -
Milton Friedman has recently written an "addendum" to his online Nobel Prize biography (in, I think, May of this year). Previously, this biography only detailed his life up until the time he was awarded the prize, in 1976. I believe that he has updated this biography because he feels he hasn't got long left and wants to leave a complete account of his life before he goes. Just a thought, but maybe it means he'll be on his way out before the year is up.

"some unpleasantness" (if that's even a proper word) is a slight understatement, don't you think?

Ideas and Possibilities for 2006

I think that J.D. Salinger, author of "Catcher in the Rye", should be considerd for inclusion in next year's list. After all, he will be 87 next year. There is a slight possibility in my mind that he is already dead, in fact, given that he lives a very reclusive lifestyle and hardly anyone sees him. Therefore his death could well go unreported for weeks or even months. Well, maybe I'm going a bit over the top there, but you get my point. -
Ah, the Life of Brian. "spat at in the face? What I wouldn't give to be spat at in the face. They must think the sun shines out of your arse!" (or words to that effect)

Why do you assume people from Surbiton are "psuedo intellectuals" ?

Perhaps all fellow deathlisters should start looking up to Banshees Scream. Ronnie may be an actor for a couple more years yet. I will start looking up to you. Just please don't refer to yourself in the third person.

I have recently received a Personal Message from a certain member who clearly has something against me. I will not mention this person's name, but suffice to say that his message to me consisted solely of the word "Tosser" in big bright red lettering. I must say, I appreciated the effort. Don't just write "tosser" in small, insignificant script. Make it your duty to choose the biggest, boldest font just so that I get the message. Well done. Your exceedingly mature contribution to this site continues. P.S. In case it wasn't too obvious, it was Mr. Obsessive himself, you know the guy who posts more than 20 articles a day and then has a go at me for no reason.
-
Does he perchance write in bold all the time as well? Or is this just something you have decided to inflict upon us?
-
I don't know about anyone else, but I am perfectly capable of understanding text which isn't written in bold.
-
I voted for "concern". Concern that people who post around 20 items a day must be posting primarily irrelevant stuff, which I then have to read/ waste my time reading. Concern that people are somewhat obsessive and refuse to accept this, despite it being pointed out by several moderators and other members. Concern that people feel it's necessary to write me offensive personal messages. So, yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

Oooh, our own DeathList soothsayer. Of course the 9 can also mean we only get nine hits. Let's see how accurate those dreams really are. regards, Hein We shall see Hein.. Hopefully that doesn't mean we only get 9 hits. But i doubt Simon will see 2006. Although let's hope tonight i don't dream going on to BBC news finding the news of Clive Dunn's demise. Espeacialy since he's not on this years list. If i have any more of these dreams i'll let everyone know... A dream featuring Clive Dunn's demise could not possibly be accurate. This is because, as we all know, he is immortal.
