    Margaret Thatcher

Sorry but I want her bucket to be kicked A.S.A.P. we've been waiting for 15 years for our street party. Come on Maggie faw and do in yer hip and croak, that'll give us a damned good Christmas. Yeah but come on, assume that: 1). She is placed on next year's death list. 2). She is rushed to hospital on New Years' Eve, apparently "with hours to live". 3). You are enjoying a great piss up on New Years' Eve with your mates. 4). As the clock reaches 12, and 2006 dawns, it is announced that Thatcher has passed away. This would be a massive celebration for everyone concerned!

    Deathlist Forum Milestone

TF, do you plan to make 1000+ posts before tomorrow morning? Or can you rely on others to do so? Tempus is on the verge of becoming the leading poster on this forum. He trails Heaven Can Wait by a single post. Come on Tempus, you know you can do it!

    Albert Hofmann

errr........I think he already has lived a long life. He'd be better doing DL a favour and giving us an even merrier Xmas by dying.

    Margaret Thatcher

You guys shouldn't be wishing her dead now. Another 24 days, assuming she is on next year's list, would be a greater cause for celebration.

    Most Hated...

Probably because he's ugly & his music is crap. an excellent summary.

    Rosa Parks

Aren't Outkast African-American? Indeed they are. I was referring to Bruno Brimley's comment that Rosa Parks was "responsible for giving you all the freedoms you enjoy" or words to those effect. I assumed, given your name, that you were not African American and therefore not really a beneficiary of what Rosa Parks did.

You mean he was actually sober for 2 days?

    Assassinations

Indeed. Bush should by all rights be assassinated, as he was elected in a year ending in 0. (yes, I know, when I say "elected", I mean, "asked his brother to rig the election") All American presidents elected in a year ending in 0 since 1840 have died whilst in office, except Ronald Reagan. And if John Hinckley had been more accurate, even he would have continued the trend. And we all know Bush isn't exactly the most popular of US Presidents. Fingers crossed.

    Rosa Parks

It was most definitely insulting. It denigrated everything Ms. Parks sat for. What say we turn the tables for a few and put your mommy in the place of Ms. Parks? Yeah I know you being an immature wiseass will say it doesn't matter thats the big problem with wastrels like you. You curse like your life depended on it even in front of your elders and see nothiong wrong with sullying the reputation of those who are responsible for all the freedoms you have. I doubt Rosa Parks was responsible for giving a man called "Youth in Asia" any rights. She was more concerned with African American rights if my vague knowledge of history is correct.

    Paul Gascoigne

Let's not forget that we were all predicting Maradona's imminent demise, yet he has (tragically) made a full recovery. So don't count out Gazza just yet.

Marilyn Monroe – Suicide Or Cover-Up?

Didn't bother to read his profile, but isn't he the guy who thinks all world leaders are actually reptiles?

    Boris Yeltsin

I agree Boris Yeltsin is a good bet to die at some point. Well of course he's a goodbet to die at some point. The trick is guessing when.

    Peter Drucker

Aside from what I wrote above, Friedman won the Nobel Prize for Economics. Drucker didn't. (Nor did Galbraith for that matter, but that would indeed be another matter). Milton Friedman is surely the world's most famous living economist.

    Rosa Parks

She was a seamstress and most likely did the stitching of the straighgt jacket you shall some day be wrapped in. Okay, let's get serious here for a moment she did a lot, she had courage when others did not and when you look at the time line she was no longer a spring chicken when she decided to take that huge step........okay her early 40's isn't old but why weren;t the kids in their 20's and younger doing anything? Because of her Bill Cosby was able to costar in I Spy. Now for those helpful weblinks you are too lazy to find for yourself. Rosa Parks weblink #1 Rosa parks weblink #2 Rosa Parks webllink #3 Nevertheless I believe Youth In Asia has a point. Others inevitably did what she did previously but did not receive credit for it. I don't believe she should be singled out as some kind of heroine when many others have fought for the same cause and are ignored. Just my opinion.

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2006

Here are the ages of those you have mentioned: Molly Sugden: 83 Keith Waterhouse: 76 Fred Trueman: 74 Dickie Bird: 72 Parky: 70 Geoff Boycott: 65 I would say only Molly Sugden is old enough to be a truly serious contender. BTW, Alan Sillitoe was apparently born in Nottingham and is therefore no Yorkshireman!

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2006

I'm amazed that someone else has heard of Ronald Coase. He will be 95 this month so can't have long left. However, being an economist and therefore inevitably unknown to the general public (Milton Friedman and J.K. Galbraith are exceptions rather than the rule), there's no way he would pass the "fame" test for the DL.

    12 In 2005?

Brooke Astor has lived for over 103 years, which is almost twice as long as the likes of George Best. She really should accept that her days are up, do the decent thing and pass on.

The Beckham / Ian Wright / Wayne Rooney

Brilliant MPFC. This could apply to thousands of celebritys. May I borrow it? I wasn't aware that thousands of celebrities had to share a couch with Mark Lawrenson. That is a rather frightening image.

Ronnie Reagan won't be in hell, What did the guy do that was so bad. Sure he made mostly crappy movies and went along with the McCarthy witch hunts, but his presidency was pretty successful,he defeated "The Evil Empire" and was a beacon of intelligence compared to chimp faced "Dubya". An amoeba is a beacon of intelligence compared to Dubya.

    George Best

Well he did score six goals against Northampton in the FA Cup. But Man U didn't need to score six to go through.

The Beckham / Ian Wright / Wayne Rooney

not good for anyone else though. I hope he is assassinated in the near future, I think there's a distinct possibility this will happen.

Why hasn't Beckham been assassinated yet?
  23. sympathyforthedevil

    Gerald Ford

I appreciate your concise history of American politics in the 1970s. However it does not change the fact that Dubya is a dithering moron.

I chose my name for two reasons. Firstly, because it's the title of a great Rolling Stones song. Secondly, because I truly do believe the devil deserves some sympathy; after all, he is destined to spend eternity in the company of such prominent DLers as Pinochet, Waldheim, Castro and Reagan. I pity the guy, I really do.

    George Best

    Pele is still alive, actually.
