    Ideas and Possibilities for 2010

I'm sure a lot more people are familiar with the term Lou Gehrig's Disease than Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Anyway, wiki says, "Most people with ALS die from respiratory failure, usually within 3 to 5 years from the onset of symptoms. However, about 10 percent of those individuals with ALS survive for 10 or more years." So obviously a small percentage of people can hang on for a while, but anybody with this disease is worth keeping a close eye on, which is all I really recommended in the first place. If his condition worsens this year, next year, or whenever, be ready. We may be able to see the end coming.

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2010

For anybody in a pool where youth nets extra points, I think it's worth keeping tabs on Orlando Thomas, 36, a former player for the Minnesota Vikings. He'll likely make it through this year, but he's got Lou Gehrig's disease, so his condition could worsen at any time. Sufferers usually die within 3-5 years, and next year will be his 3rd.

    Steve Jobs

Anytime it's Dec. 31st and a headline comes out entitled Apple Rumors: CEO Steve Jobs on Deathbed, Prognosis Poor, I think it's a mistake not to include the aforementioned party on your list. Particularly in pools scored by age, as Jobs is relatively young.
