I don't know how on earth I missed your post Engineer, sorry for not replying sooner. They make great pets, especially if you get them from a young age and the pick up talking. They can be comical at times. My other parrot is an African grey and a fantastic talker. Only took a weekend to teach it to say my name. Once she picked it up, it came out with 'Hello Paul' (Not my real name of course, but I'm sure you get my drift) Always says 'Bye' when I'm going out to work in the morning and a 'Hello' when I come back in. As for how long they live, probably between 30 - 50 years. I suppose there will be exceptions and some may live on to a ripe old age. I denfitely want one or two as a family pet when i settle down (african grey and a macaw) and and i like the fact they live so long too. I guess there will be alot to learn though so i best study before i buy one lol.

in my early days of the internet and deathlist i actually thought wikipedia was only updated with confirmed info . It reported walter mondale as dead and i posted it here and got a strike . To be fair the strike has been removed now and i argee with lardy i give up ever trying to take an active part in wiki i have been banned twice now once for updating th deaths thread and another for changing something and providing a credible link. I think there is still a certain bias with the mods .

Have you submitted a DDP team? That is where you can display your uncanny prescience about this years deaths and those who write the list might take notice of your suggestions in future. No I haven't gotten that far yet - just signed on this week or last week - don't remember much but there are a lot of empty bottles of wine laying around. So the DDP is a list of people I personally think are going to suck their last breath of air? I'll work on it. Yea also the ddp is 20 picks not 50 which was a mistake I made when I first decided to play . I had 50 names ready to go only to realise I needed to get rid of 30 names and in the end I didn't enter a team that year. Though some do a shadow list which comprises of 50 picks. Don't think there is a leader board for shadow lists though if you want to play to be competitive. My personal favourite though is the hartlepool deadpool which I'm taking part in for the first time this year and I would recommend it.
