Talking of Shia LaBeouf, haven't listened to this in a while.

I did; I also read the report it references, which clearly states he was feeling suicidal 2 years ago, but has come out of it now. If, on the other hand, you're afraid and anxious because he's found God, then I fully understand.

Can't see it anywhere but apologies if "Dunn" - L.Q. Jones, a Sam Peckinpah favourite, has died aged 94, back in July. A Silver Screen II pick, incidentally.

Jet Black is 84 today, despite all those pool predictions. ( I would have posted video but they all seem to have been recorded with genuine Stranglers-era mobile phones) -
Its the 22nd anniversary of the death of former tennis player & party pooper Bunny Austin, who died on his 94th birthday*. Herbert Wilfred Austin was the last Briton to appear in a Wimbledon Men's Singles final until Andy Murray's appearance in 2012, 74 years later. In all, he appeared in three grand slam singles and three grand slam mixed doubles finals, losing them all. He's noted for being the first player to wear shorts in competition, and for popularising a split-shaft tennis racquet, which was widely mocked, and forgotten on his retirement, before becoming popular again in the '60s. He appeared at Wimbledon in the parade of past champions & finalists to celebrate the Millennium, 56 days before his death. He assumed his nickname, bestowed by schoolfriends, came from the Daily Mirror comic strip Pip, Squeak & Wilfred, Wilfred being a rabbit. *It is not on record as to whether or not he was celebrating his birthday at the time.

Its twenty-four years since the death of journalist and writer Barbara Mandell, aged 78. Although born in London the family emigrated to South Africa where she began her career working for the Rand Daily Mail before moving to the South Africa Broadcasting Company, working as a radio news editor. Returning to the UK via a brief stay in the US she was employed by the BBC as an editor on its Television Newsreel programme, before joining the new Independent Television in 1955. She became the first woman news presenter on British TV, presenting the Midday News, until it was scrapped in early 1956, though she continued to present weekend bulletins and report throughout the latter half of the 1950s. After retiring from presentation she continued to work as an editor, before retiring in 1980, whereupon she moved to Luxembourg and wrote travel books.

Its possible but I don't remember it if I did. I saw it last time I had Britbox, as it had two different versions available (no, I can't remember what the differences were exactly, just some dialogue I think) so I watched them both.

Happy birthday to me. and @Magere Hein (wherever he is). -
Yes, it may well be true, but from whence did the report originate? Nothing from friends or family, or the BCS or Birkbeck that I can see, not even a newspaper announcement. As Wikipedia is wont to say "citation needed".

Is there any actual confirmation of her death, besides the wiki-box?

Former Deep Purple vocalist Ian Gillan is 77 today. He joined Purple in 1969, replacing original vocalist Rod Evans, when they had decided to pursue a ;heavier; style than had been followed thus far. He stayed for four years, appearing on some of their most successful albums - In Rock, Fireball, Machine Head, and Who Do We Think We Are. During this period he was also Jesus Christ on the original recording of RIce & Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ, Superstar. Subsequently, he formed his own eponymous band, Gillan, which achieved a UK number 3 album, Glory Road, and joined Black Sabbath as vocalist for a period, before re-joining the re-formed Purple in 1984. He also appeared in Rock Aid Armenia, a charity album in aid of victims of the Armenian earthquake of 1988; he maintained ties with Armenia, and was honoured by the Armenian President (along with Tony Iommi, Geoff Downes & Jon Dee) with the Order of Honour in 2009. WhoCares, a charity supergroup was formed by Gillan & Iommi on the back of this effort. -
Lots of buzzz on the socials that Virginia Grohl, mother of Dave, has died (possibly in July) but nothing official, (either confirmation or denial). Supposedly originated from a live Instagram from Dave's daughter Violet.

There is much about the finish of the race which will never be known for certain as all the participants are dead, but Amon has also said that no-one knew who'd won, initially. The British newspapers of the time were reporting that McLaren/Amon won by virtue of starting further back. "Motor" magazine reported it thus - the report is reproduced on McLaren's website. Unfortunately, the only contemporary sources I can find online are British; it would be interesting to see how the French, US and NZ papers of the time reported it.

Its 24 years since the death of Indian model and actress Persis Khambatta. She achieved success as a model while still a teenager, for brands including Revlon & Air India, which lead to appearances in Bollywood films. After a few small Hollywood roles she came to prominence in the west when she appeared as shaven-headed Lieutenant Ilia in 1979's Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Reportedly a heavy smoker, in 1983 had bypass surgery, and in 1998, suffering chest pains she was admitted to Mumbai's Marine Hospital where she died of a massive heart attack, aged 49. Or did she.... Ex-boyfriend Edward Lozzi claims she was murdered because of her support and admiration for Indira Gandhi.
