Its 21 years since the death of Muriel Young, TV continuity announcer, presenter and producer, at the age of 77. Her producing role was primarily concerned with teen pop-music programmes such as Lift Off, Shang-a-Lang and Get It Together (so we can thank her for the Roy North clips!) and she also devised children's film-review programme Clapperboard. She retired from TV in 1986.

He was a former world record holder for 200m, a time 19.72 seconds, in 1979, which stood for 17 years and is still the European record. He won Olympic gold over 200m in Moscow, 1980 defeating Scot Allan Wells by 0.02s.
