What would you like to see on TV?
time replied to Charlotte's Controller's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Also with streaming, you miss any post-credit scene as it automatically starts the next episode before the credits finish. (The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret had post-credit scenes which I didn't discover until I'd missed most of them).- 24 replies

I went for the nonagenarian former President. Gorbachev - I anticipate a defenestration sometime soon.

I vaguely remember a programme a few years ago where 'posh' families had to swap with 'poor' families and live each other's lifestyles for a while (possibly on holiday - the 'poor' family went to Val d'Isere or the Virgin Islands and the 'posh' family went to Pontins or had a couple of weeks in a caravan - something along those lines). I'd reboot it but instead of random posh families, various members of the cabinet would swap places with those on the breadline and they'd live each other's lifestyles. They wouldn't swap back after a fortnight though.- 24 replies

Mr. Poitier. I guess this means he won't be coming to dinner.

Not the only thing Brinkwire haven't quite grasped.

Surprise, case dismissed https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/jan/04/nirvana-nevermind-baby-cover-artwork-lawsuit-dismissed?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other ”with leave to amend”; not sure what that is but the plaintiff has until the 13th to refile. -
She's one of my selections, she'd better still be alive (at least as of Saturday morning)!

Hamish no More. Former Scotland player Hamish K. More has died aged 81. Played 18 first class matches & toured with the MCC in '78-79. He still holds the Scottish record for catches in a match, 7 vs Pakistan, taken in 1971. -
I went with Starmer-Smith; Mrs Starmer-Smith died last year and two of their children died in their teens.

Reminded by this..

No apology necessary but sorry too. Still, half a loaf is better than none. Strangely enough I think I found her via a convoluted route from an ITC show - UFO.
-
Sorry about that, but it goes both ways. I checked back a few years and was surprised he doesn't appear to have ever been picked, then like buses, two at once.

Early retirement.

Believe it or not, I only sent in the "Rons" team a couple of days ago as I was retiring it, but two locks for my new theme-team died in December and I never got round to finishing it. So I just found two more "Rons" and bunged them in. Never added any subs though, being as it was a last-minute thing!

A late dip across the line there!

Mikey 'Mao' Chung, who played with Sly & Robbie & Black Uhuru, as well as Peter Tosh and a plethora of other notable names, has died aged 71.

This article from The Blizzard, recently reproduced in The Guardian, has Trevillion credited with introducing the Captain's armband to English football, but more interestingly reveals that he only has 2 hours sleep each night and is "completely crackers". It's also an interesting read if you've ever wondered on the origins of captains' armbands.

There's no room for sentimentality in Deadpooling. Agreed

I submitted my team via PM, as usual. All new names for me this year (though not necessarily new to the game). In a departure from normal practice, I've omitted any world's/UK oldest thanks to Lilian Priest's death getting zero coverage, and have actively sought Celebrity Squares and panto participants. I'll probably hit two deaths max, as per!
