So .. What Do You Watch On TV?
time replied to Banshees Scream's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
NCIS anyone? It is apparently Teresa May's favourite program. I've watched some and I'm not sure if its bad, good, good in parts or so-bad-its-good. Who'd have thought the US Navy was such a magnet for crime. It's 'of its time' I guess, featuring such delights as workplace bullying and sexual harassment, and at times anti-Arab/muslim sentiment (it started a coupleof years post 9/11, so...), but one or two storylines aren't bad. To whoever asked how come Grey's Anatomy kept on getting renewed, this would appear to be the baseline standard! -
Ronnie is one of my DDP picks. Joyce is not.

Third on the list behind Draper and another Aussie, Ken Archer, who has 5 test caps. This is for men only, obviously Eileen Ash at 109 is older than everyone. -

Louise King, the widow of F1 Ferrari driver Peter Collins has died aged 89. Meeting at the instigation of Stirling Moss, Collins proposed two days later, and they married a week after they first met. They were married for only 18 months before Collins was killed, crashing at the German Grand Prix at Nürburgring in 1958. King subsequently resumed her acting career, appearing on stage at the request of Peter Ustinov, as well as taking parts in British TV.

Watching this now, not sure how long ago it was recorded but looks (and sounds) like there's plenty of life left in him. Not so most of the guests, sadly.

Yes there is, no we don't.

Re Sean Lock, 15 Stories High is now available on BBC iPlayer. As I previously said , it’s well worth a viewing. (Obviously, if that’s your sort of thing. I’m aware there are people with no sense of humour )

Reminds me of the Michael Caine retort on being asked about Jaws 4 (it being a bit rubbish by all accounts) and it building him a terrific house.

I agree partly - Gogglebox and NA both originated on C4 and seem designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator (presumably because that's what sells). BB at least originally, was, I think a legitimate social experiment (it originated in the NL). It was only later it became so manipulative, as again, that was what was selling possibly as a result of "Nasty Nick", with contestants trying to be as outrageous as possible. Originally CBB had genuine celebrities with genuine interaction (See also I'm a Celebrity...) rather than 'celebrities' trying to make a name for themselves. Of course I could be completely wrong, I've never watched any of 'em. I was out of the country for the 'Red Triangle' so I don't know about that, but I do remember from my youth a white box would be displayed in the corner of the screen if there was any content deemed 'unsuitable' for children or those of a nervous disposition (or the NVLA); this, I seem to remember, even included Hammer Horror films.

There's very little 'real' about reality TV. Lets face it 99% of us have really boring lives 99% of the time.

He'd have been on my new theme team too; its not a big pool of candidates either, so I hope no-one else dies before the end of the year. -

Ted Dexter out at 86. That uncharacteristic England performance yesterday maybe to much too take in.
