The world's shortest mobile man (I.e. could walk) has died aged 27. Khagendra Thapa Magar died in Nepal today (Friday). He was 67cm tall. -

I'm with YW on this. Some of us old farts have got longer memories that go back further than Yes Minister/Prime Minister & Heartbeat. To us he'll always be Mr. Derek.

Many years ago, I pointed out to TMIB, in his role as DDP-meister, that Derek Fowlds' DDP bio made no mention of Basil Brush. He suggested I take a closer look, whereupon I discovered, to my delight and amusement, he'd been listed as "Mr. Derek Fowlds". Alas, this year, perhaps as some portent to his demise, the 'Mr.' is missing! Hopefully this is just temporary as a result of setting up this year's DDP, and it will reappear with the next update.

Former head of France's DGSE, Pierre Lacoste, has died in a Paris nursing home a few days shy of his 96th birthday. He was head of the DGSE at the time of the sinking of the Rainbow Warrior, resulting in his sacking.

One to cross off the czech-list, Czech-born director and sometime Milos Forman friend and collaborator, Ivan Passer, (Cutter's Way, Law & Disorder et al) has, er, passered away. Died yesterday aged 86. -

Yes. As said before, it's Matthew Waterhouse as Adric. He provokes mixed reactions. Whereas YW has remanined faithful to young Adric, I've been updating my avatars, not exactly regularly but but at least occasionally, working my way through time. I shall be moving onto Sarah Sutton soon.
