Well played!

No, David Bellamy shouldn't

I haven't read his work, but his name was enough to elevate him to the exalted ranks of my Rons theme team at the start of the year, so if you could all kindly forget about him, he can be unique again next year. Thanks.

That's two ex Birmingham City managers in a a matter of days; Willie Bell should be feeling nervous.

It was probably only reported on the BBC, so easily missed.

George Laurer, inventor of the universal product code - i.e. the barcode - died last Thursday aged 94.

Manchester City's capitulation at the hands of their local rivals was apparently enough for Roy Cheetham, City's first ever substitute (for Mike Summerbee), who died in his sleep Sunday night, aged 79.

Apologies, I was reading my list as Caswell rather than Farnes.

Flt Lt Maurice Mounsdon dies age 101 I thought on first viewing that the three remaining 'few' were named in the twitter thread but I can't find the reference now. The Battle of Britain historical society website offers three names in addition to Flt Lt Mounsdon - Flight Lieutenant William Terence Clark, DFM, 219 Squadron, Blenheims Wing Commander Paul Caswell Farnes DFM, British, 501 Squadron, Hurricanes Flying Officer John Allman Hemingway DFC - 85 Squadron Hurricanes, Irish which differs from YW's list of last year, with only Clark in common.

As a Brummie, I should also acknowledge Ron's unique achievement of being manager of Aston Villa, Birmingham City and West Brom. I hope (and expect they will) all three clubs would pay suitable tribute.

A Ron gone. 11 months after Ron Smith dies unobited, ...and its goodnight from him gets its first hit!

Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke (who would surely have been a porn start in another life) has died aged 79. Claimed to have converted 75,000,000 to christianity.

Elms are particularly suited to Brighton & Hove, being tolerant of the salt-laden air and the chalky soil, so were favourites to be planted when the Victorians wanted to green the area. It's about the only place in England with any sort of sizeable elm population.
-
One of two 400 year old elms, known as the Preston Park Twins, and considered to be the oldest Elms in the world/Europe (take your pick), was felled yesterday after succumbing to Dutch Elm Disease.

A reminder that, John Edrich still lives, 19 years after he was told he had seven years left, cured of leukaemia by mistletoe. -

And its over for RGD Willis -
Most likely explanation - most people have SC blocked, therefore didn't see it until you quoted it.

John Lorimer, DSO, last surviving mini-submariner from the raid on the Tirpitz, Operation Source, has died aged 97. His was one of two subs which successfully managed to lay their mines (of ten that set out).

Thank you new showrunners for running the new show. Fingers crossed its better than the old show (from my point of view). Thanks Spade for the last two years (and indeed for his predecessors for the preceding years). I can confirm that my notification email was found where expected, and I'll therefore look in the same place for the final reminder towards the end of the month.

Maybe Sir Creep was suggesting the creation of a new thread entitled Despots specifically to include all those despots from non-African countries.

2019 General Election - 4 way Clusterfuck or a End to Brexit?

Similar position here, where the only plausible opposition to the Tories is Labour, but both the Lib Dems and Greens are standing. If that wasn't bad enough, the Green candidate is already a local councillor and Mayor and an MEP. -
probably...

Happy 33rd birthday Deathlist! I've been here for 10 of those years (or longer if you count the lurking).
