Presumably only if the leg is given an obituary in a qualifying news source.

This should really go in 'The Dead of 2010' thread as Clarence W. Prevost, the flight instructor credited with shopping Zacarias Moussaoui to the Feds, died just before Christmas.
-
This site is reporting her dead.

Not a WWF/WWE wrestler but a proper British (well Aussie) wrestler, the appropriately named Dr. Death, Paul Lincoln, has died aged 80-something. Apparently he was also (sort of) responsible for inflicting Cliff RIchard on us.

Strange but true... Margaret Whiting was married to gay porn star Jack Wrangler until his death.

Derek Gardner, the man who designed the (in)famous 6-wheel Tyrell back in the mid-70's has died aged 79.

Cricket Thread. Only Mad Dogs And Englishmen

The Ashes stay home! We already had them! Well done to the Poms, for once. I feel that last time, you won, but didn't earn it -- Australia (Ponting more like) gifted it to you with some baffling and very poor captancy. But this time you won it well, no questions asked. Like I said, well done. Now, shut up and let's get on with something else. Strangely we have a Welshman in "our" cricket team. I use the word lightly as I am from 'ampshire but I couldn't tell you much about the Hawks. Could anyone confirm or deny whether a Welshman could play for England in The Ashes, out of interest like Come on honez, rejoice in your victory! Rub it in by passing crap internet virals on to your colleagues. (PS Hope you are not flooded or anything) That particular Welshman actually played in the 2005 Ashes winning team, being pretty successful in his own right: -

How did you find that one?????? Not having Sky, I follow the matches by text commentary (cricinfo, BBC, Guardian) - it was mentioned on one of those - I forget which. -
Ah well, can't win 'em all, though my money's on SW6 for an actual sacking. (Stamford Bridge for the pedantic guests).

Go ahead, we're all ears.

Liverpool haven't sacked a manager since the 50's, though there may have been one or two who have left 'by mutual consent'; these usually happen during the close season. Roy Evans was the last to resign mid-season after his work-share with Houllier didn't work out, back in '98. For these reasons, I dismiss any notion that the first managerial casualty will be at Anfield. I reckon it's more likely to be in London - SW6 to be more precise.

tijd will suffice for me!

That'll do, Dick. That'll do. (First mentioned about an hour ago in the Novelists thread by Ulitzer95).

Novelist Dick King-Smith has died. One of my theme team I believe. Bye-bye Babe-y.

People yabbering on about something within what during the 1990s we used to call "cyberspace." I've only seen it used as a verb when referring to numerous mentions on Twitter. You know how Americans just love to turn nouns in to verbs. This discussion calls the process "verbing". Two that I hate are "targetting" and "impacting". Also there are people who want to "medal" in the Olympic games. Linguistically I find it vomit-inducing but I suppose vomiting is acceptable. What can you expect from a nation that can listen to the story of Ladle Rat Rotten Hut and understand it? Perhaps it is something to be admired. Edit: just been looking for other versions of this Anguish Language lesson from the US and they all seem to involve people who are slightly bonkers so they should feel at home here. . Thanks for that, just what I needed, someone unpacking a paper bag in front of a microphone - this is much better , the Merry Macs. -
Ok lets give it a whirl: Zsa Zsa Gabor Gloria Vanderbilt Geertruida Draaisma Bernard Haitink Dick Van Dyke Dick Bruna Piet De Jong Xaveira Hollander Laura Gemser Joop Zoetemelk My only criterion was that I had have to have heard of them, which I satisfied except for Mrs Draaisma.

Chapman Pincher, just for a change, and because Deathlist comes 3rd when you google him.

I never picked him for anything ! I feel like a bum, humbled. Oh well, plenty of time to catch up.
