Dave Vanian is 73 today. best known as lead singer of The Damned, who were the first UK punk band to release a single (and studio album). They had a 9 UK charting singles, the last of them being In Dulce Decorum which reached number 77 in 1987.

Bruce Weaver, a freelance Florida-based photographer, who captured the image of the space shuttle Challenger disaster, has died aged 77.

Cal Wilson cause of death revealed to be "rare and aggressive" form of cancer. Reportedly been in hospital for a couple of weeks after collapsing on set.
