According to a Spanish court, McAfee committed suicide, which concurs with the initial findings. This exhausts all avenues for the McAfee family trying to prove otherwise, at least through the Spanish judicial system.

Pound to a penny he's fuck-all to do with it, or a best (worst?) a minor player. No way a 16 year old kid has done that on his own (or of his own volition).

That'll be useful the morning after.

Ten years since the Canterbury Beer Festival DL Con. I'm getting a hangover just thinking about it.

As an older git, my first exposure to Gambon was The Singing Detective, though as a teen I was ill-equipped to appreciate it. I bought it on DVD some years (decades) later and appreciated not only Gambon's acting (and that of Patrick Malahide, only previously seen in Minder), but the writing of Dennis Potter too. If the younger crowd only remember him for the Harry Potter films, its still a fair legacy.

The legend that is Brian Murphy is 91 today, and looks good for a few more birthdays yet! -
Re Maddy Cusack, cause of death not disclosed, but BBC says police not treating it as suspicious. I see from that report that her squad number was eight, so fans applauded in the eighth minute; fittingly Sheffield United also conceded eight goals. Serendipity.

On point 3 Rishi, missed the boat on that one - 1 glass 2 garden waste 3 dry recycling (paper, card, cans etc.) 4 batteries 5 textiles 6 food waste 7 everything else. OK, maybe it's not compulsory, but it's strongly encouraged where available.

This is photoshopped, surely

Time for Brum to declare Brexit and say no to being run by unelected bureaucrats! -
Its 19 years since the death of singer Skeeter Davis. Born Mary Frances Penick, she was nicknamed 'Skeeter' by her grandfather, after 'mosquito' as she had a lot of energy. Her maternal grandfather was murdered by his brother, causing her mother to attempt suicide several times, even attempting to jump from a window with Skeeter and her brother in her arms. She was part of The Davis Sisters with schoolfriend Betty Jack Davis, until Davis was killed in a car crash after a radio appearance, and after recuperating, with Davis' younger sister Georgia, at the instigation of the Davis' mother. A solo career saw Skeeter's biggest hit, reaching number 18 in the UK and number 2 on the Billboard hot 100, with The End of The World. In 1988, she was diagnosed with breast cancer; following a mastectomy she was in remission for several years, until a recurrence in 1996. The disease finally killed her in 2004, aged 72.
