First Celebrity Death You Remember
time replied to The Daredevil's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I suspect - it was a long time ago - that the first death I registered was Jimi Hendrix. I was barely 10 and notions of celebrity or fame didn't really register at that time. My exposure to news coverage was limited to 10 minute bulletins at tea-time, and 1 minute bulletins on Radio 1 (there was very little in the way of daytime TV but the radio was always on, and always tuned to Radio 1); I doubt I even picked up a newspaper, let alone read it, at that age. -
Indeed he is/was.

Seven Tears is a lot better (imho) than either of Boney M's UK number ones; Boney M should be consigned to history's dustbin, if only for their terrible cover of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.

As an aside, there was/is a twatter thing going that whatever was number one on your 23rd birthday is how your 2023 will pan out. Mine is in the above list, and is not remotely reassuring.

I don't 'hate' any of the remaining songs, but I was a student in Sheffield at the time, and Human League (being of Sheffield origin), and particularly this song, were everywhere at the time, and I was more into metal and punk.
