Famous celebrity births , pregnancies and babies
time replied to Gooseberry Crumble's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Stretching the definition of 'celebrity' there, I feel. -
I may be wrong (it was a long time ago, early70s) but I'm sure I remember Barney Miller being shown around tea-time. eta: I'm clearly wrong about the date as it didn't exist in the early 70s. Maybe I'm wrong about it being broadcast at tea-time - it might possibly have been later (maybe a regional opt-out?) Maybe I'm wrong about it being shown at all and I just remember it from seeing it in the USA!

Full teams are list in signature. Regular times-up team sees 5 changes from 2022, with 4 deaths and Otto Rehhagel dropped to the subs bench (not even at first sub, so even the death of Mike Hodges couldn't get him a place). New in this year are Lynn Davies, James Martin, Jan Tomaszewski, M. Emmett Walsh & Paul Young. The "Rons" features 3 new faces, Ronny Cox, Ron Headley & Ronnie Schneider. My new team is Five-minute Bell Ends. These are all people who've rung the five-minute bell at Lords, so are predominantly cricketers, with the odd non-cricketer but 'cricket-adjacent' name. I did intend to enter this last year but never got it together in time, with a couple of names dying in the interim. C'est la mort!
-
I went for the almost near normal Norman Lear.
-
My team (entered via DM) 50 Jean Marsh 45 Gerard Kennedy 40 Dickie Davies 35 Tsai Chin 30 Ian Smith 25 Russ Tamblyn 20 Wanda Ventham 15 Natasha Pyne 10 Aimi MacDonald 05 Terry Cox SUBS Gus Trikonis Barrie Rutter This is exactly the team entered last year, as they all survived. I reckon that makes them all automatically eligible for the "Death of candidate in spite of extremely high improbability or unlikeliness of same. +5" bonus.

Agreed. Now watch him keel over in M*A*R*C*H.

I see now why you changed your name from elephant.

Hmmm. I want to vote, but is @Paul Bearergoing to reallocate the surplus -5 to anyone else? Alternatively, I could do +4/-11

I've never entered this before, but it occurred to me I had the makings of a team already picked out from my "Randoms who Might" DDP team which has turned into "Randoms who Didn't", so I thought just add a couple of extra names, find a couple of subs just in case, and send it in here! So here it is: Ann Hamilton from Morecambe & Wise Ann Haydon-Jones tenniser aka Ann Jones Arthur Cox Football Manager Billy Mills US 10k Olympic winner aka Tamakoce Te'Hila Bob Langley Pebble Miller Bobbie Gentry of Ode to Billie Joe Bonnie Bramlett of Delaney & Bonnie Chita Rivera From Broadway Clarence Carter Patches Dyan Cannon Alice Actress Frank Blunstone Ex-Footballer, earliest surviving England International Gordon Lee Football Manager Graham Kerr Galloping Gourmet James Cosmo Go-to Scots actor Jean-Claude Killy Skier Jeanette Charles The Queen <<<<<<<<<<<<<<JOKER/WILDCARD John Gorman Scaffolder/Tiswas Kris Kristofferson Convoy Laurence Fox Ex-actor, now just a guy with a massive chip on his shoulder Louis Mellis Sexy Beast Peter Shelley Not the Buzzcock, the Coo-ca-choo writer Rita Moreno From the films Roger McGough Scaffolder/poet Terry Cox Pentangle-ist Yves Saint-Martin French Jockey Subs Jimmy Melia Football Manager, took Brighton to FA Cup Final Michael Aspel From the BBC

I thought he was Crossroads, not Corrie. I tend to shy away from the obvious picks (which is no doubt why I never win anything) but I expect there will be a handful of names from Corrie which will feature pretty heavily, onr of which even I picked!

Each year's most significant Deathlist miss

Why is one DL miss more significant than any other DL miss? I don't get it. -
Keith Sanderson, who won the 1967 League Cup with QPR, has died following a car crash on Christmas Eve. He was 82. As well as being a footballer, he also had a full-time job working for IBM.

I expect this has severely pissed off the drop 40 advocates.

Thus demonstrating that either Cliff or the Daily Mail don't know what 'refuted' means. From that sentence one could infer that Bill was bisexual, Cliff fulfilling exactly the same role in the relationship that the girlfriend did.

India Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant involved in serious car accident this morning; he reportedly dozed off and hit a guardrail, causing the car to flip over and burst into flames. He escaped, with injuries, by breaking a window.

Please can someone let us know how many entries had Pelé as a candidate?

and I will defend my unique picks until the end of Gooseberry Crumble!!

Not the result I was looking for, but the people have spoken (and be honest, its not the first time the people have been wrong). Bring on the 80s!

Team submitted. Not the most user-friendly categories from my perspective but I think I've managed to find 25 valid names.
