Oh ye of little faith. I've gone for Peter Sallis (again).

Dead Dave Swarbrick (And Fairport Convention)

Well. Played violin very WELL. Another person I've seen live to cross off my list. -
I'll say; the whole damn article is present tense and the two sentences about his demise, whatever it might be, are dismissive. Then it goes right back into present tense like he's alive. I dunno about this one. Bizarre indeed. SC Looking at a random sentence from that article - "Brooker was born in 1957 in Croydon from her parents Victor Brooker and Ethel Basset.", I think it's just written extremely badly rather than anything more sinister.

They might have gone and made it "legal" as Ronnie Le Drew, the puppeteer behind (or up if you prefer) is about to tell all regarding the Rod, Jane and Freddy love-triangle. -
I just started Malala's book so I'll weigh in on her when I'm finished. I finished Malala's book a while back and almost forgot to come back to this. Unless the facts of the story are vastly exaggerated or untrue, I cannot see why anyone would want to call her "overrated". She seems to be a courageous young woman who took personal risks to improve women's education in a violent and male-dominated culture. The fact that she now resides in the west would not cause me to doubt her courage, only applaud her prudence. Agree with what you say. Read the autobiog a while back, and saw the film more recently. Shocked she's a Justin Bieber fan though.

She looks as if she's either had a stroke or is suffering from Bell's Palsy. There's certainly something wrong with the left side (in the photos) side of her face.

Riki Sorsa, not OK. Dead. Currently trying to find an obit.

Whilst he was more popular and (probably) more well known than Bowie in the USA, Bowie had a much bigger worldwide audience in my humble opinion. But I promise most of Asia wouldn't know Bowie if he resurrected on the Great Wall but they bloody well are aware who Prince was. SC Maybe, maybe not. From my experience the most well known international pop star was/is (in terms of still mentioned) Michael Jackson. He got mentioned plenty of times by people I knew or worked with, but Prince or Bowie, nope.

Seems to be doing fine other than he also appears to have done a Pat Boone on us and (visually) turned a bit metal. Perhaps this is due to Ritchie Blackmore outing himself as a Schlager and Heino fan? Anyway, there are concert dates until September of this year listed on his website so it's probably safe to assume there's nothing wrong with him. Of course, we thought that about Lemmy... -
Those are rock bands that are pretty much old...trust me, you don't want to see or hear our pop stars.....but I have no clue on schlager stars....Heino maybe? I suspect most of the German Schlager stars are more likely to make an appearance in the Curse Of Eurovision thread than anywhere else. Annoyingly or otherwise, I've never heard any salacious rumours about the likes of Katja Ebstein and Mary Roos. The only deathlist.net-gossipy-worthy name that springs to mind is Rex Gildo and he's already dead. Hossa!

I can't help thinking he looks a lot healthier in the photo above than he has for ages.

Nooooooooooooo! Kate Jackson was my favourite Charlie's Angel. What is it? Recurrence of cancer? Drugs? Alcohol? Or something to do with this gossip-laden snippet?

I can't find anything on Jonathan Cohen's age and short of tweeting him to ask, I'd take a guess at about 70. He's still very active and looks to be in fine shape. I used to think he was quite good looking on Play School. -
You're having a laugh, aren't you. Did you forget Kim Kardashian? From your selection, only Queen Elizabeth II would eclipse Mr Bowie. I don't even know who you mean by "Janet". Jackson. But who does he mean by Madge? Madge = Madonna.

Since when was 17 "underage"? The usual hypocrisy from the press by showing pictures and videos of the so-called shocking event.
-
That's what "Paul McCartney" said about Paul McCartney...
-
The usual crap, then. I do love this quote though - "She's just rude, she's swearing, it's just not the Madonna I know." No dear, that's exactly the Madonna we know. She's always been potty-mouthed.

That article is definitely *not* to be trusted. For starters, the weekend concerts were in Melbourne, not Brisbane. The "tequila" (according to Molly Meldrum, who was at the first Melbourne show) was actually water. Equally, if on meds and alcohol, there is no way she could have done a highly choreographed show for 2 1/2 hours.

You could return in ten years and no doubt Zsa Zsa will still be around...

Danny Finn, the lead singer of the UK's 1980 entrants Prima Donna, has died of that common ailment "a short illness". I haven't yet been able to find a DDP-validated obit, but here's one from a Eurovision site.

I defend her a bit because she helped break up the Beatles, for which she deserves a medal for service to humanity. DJL ducks for cover. I defend her rather a lot because I once sent the to a colleague at work (I didn't like him) and the bit starting at 01:48 made him cry. She also dances better than I can and looks better in tight-fitting jeans than I do. FFS. That was painful. My work is done.

let's see how this will work......my country is back in the game but i don't have any hope in getting in the final..... More likely cries across Europe (and Australia) in various languages of "WE WUZ ROBBED!" when the televotes come through.
