For a moment I seriously thought this letter was directed at us, until I read "Conspiracy Death Website".

Vague news flash: Unable to attend a recent awards ceremony for he's recovering from an undisclosed surgery.
-
He claims it's health reasons, not any particular illness, just good ol' frailty.

Mr. Lee for me.
-
Went for Stan Lee. I'm giving into the "he's cancelled consecutive appearances thus it must be bad" mentality.

That's German with a strong Hungarian accent. It translates to: "Do you want to go to my place -- bouncy-bouncy?" regards, Hein Perhaps that type of allure is the real reason no one is sending him fan mail.
-
He has been mentioned elsewhere on this forum, but I think Hitler's Bodyguard would be a good addition to next years list. An article from this month states that Rochus Misch will no longer be answering 'fan mail' due to poor health (Article is in German). Wiki mentions that he is also terminally ill.

She's in hospital again, this time battling the Chicken Pox (Side note, I had no idea that she was 83-years old.)

Chris Bailey, the bassist for the Aussie rock group "The Angels" has aggressive, life-threatening cancer. Also, if it hasn't already been mentioned, the former lead singer of the group, Doc Neeson, was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Two angels with one stone.

Since no one has actually posted a link to a news article. We Have a Winner

The same article I posted here in November has a January 2013 update (with photo included). As pointed out earlier in this thread by Pam Dubois, she IS out of hospice care, however she's still confined to her bed whilst suffering the effects of dementia.

115-year old Koto Okubo has lost her title of oldest living woman.
-
Just to echo the update made earlier, she was hospitalized during the Christmas holidays for surgery. Has there been any word regarding whether or not she's been discharged yet?

Out of hospital

He claims it 'isn't that big of a deal' because it has been contained to his prostate and hasn't spread yet (He has it examined regularly. He goes on to say that he has never had any treatment for it.) It's gonna get worse, and I have a feeling that when he finally decides to do something about it, it will be too late.

A cohort of The Andrew's Sisters wrote this article 5 months ago, stating a minor update on her otherwise clandestine existence. Key phrase- "However, at age 94, her health is not that good anymore. It got so poor that earlier this year she was placed in hospice care. Her memory is fading so she does not remember many of the moments in her life that brought her joy like singing and entertaining."

I cannot hope to care less than him about all things.

Leslie Claudius: A winner of 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal in field hockey from 1948 to 1960 for Team India... either way, he's in intensive care for cirrhosis of the liver. Apparently he's been hospitalized 4 times in the past 11 months.
-
Apparently it was internal bleeding all along... I suppose that's pretty much the same thing as 'dehydration", right?

Who Should Be On The 2013 Deathlist?

I would also consider including Ingvar Kampard who turns 87 years old. He's the founder of a small, family-owned, neighbourhood furniture store called IKEA. Years of being a heavy-drinker, plus the recent death of his wife might take it's toll on him. -
Who Should Be On The 2013 Deathlist?

I guess if we're going to list off old people for the sake of listing them, then I'll suggest: Irwin Corey (98 years old), David Rockafeller (97 years old) Giorgio Armani ('only' 78, but looks like a leathery cadaver- I suspect he'll be a skin-cancer victim), Dr. Henry Heimlich (Not much news on his health, but he turns 93), Gabriel Garcia Marquez (85, HAD cancer but it's in remission, now just senile with dementia) Terry Pratchett (64, but Alzheimer's is slowly taking it's toll, can't read or write on his own anymore, but he may still have a while yet) -

Van Cliburn- Pianist- bone cancer Ray Price- Country Musician- Pancreatic Cancer Prince Phillip- Prince- Heart problems Bonnie Franklin- Actress- Pancreatic Cancer (May not get the UK obit) Mike Porcaro- Bassist (Toto)- Motor Neurone Disease (May not get UK obit, but then again, Fergie Frederiksen made it onto the list) I introduced Harper Lee to the DL community last year, hopefully the fact that she was an unsuccessful candidate won't deterrent people from considering the above-mentioned names.
