Not too sure of her fame in the UK, but Abigail Van Buren (pseudonym of Pauline Phillips- or Dear Abby) is 93 years old and has been suffering from Alzheimer's Disease since 2002.

Hear hear.

Oldest living Canadian, Sum Ying Fung, dies at age 112. Apparently, died a week ago.

He may not meet the fame-requirements for any UK list, but Baseball Hall-of-Famer Gary Carter is a good candidate on any North-American death pool lists. The 57-year old was diagnosed with 4 malignant tumours in his brain earlier this year, and also suffers from Stage 4 inoperable glioblastoma (An aggressive form of cancer).

In an effort to suggest people who are actually famous (And would warrant a UK Obit), I suggest Harper Lee, author of To Kill A Miockingbird? Turning 86 next April, she currently lives in an assisted-living facility, wheelchair bound, partially blind and deaf, and suffering from memory loss.

Also, Harry Morgan has been dead over half-an-hour and the site STILL hasn't updated. What a lazy admin.

Lindsay Lohan's father, Michael, has a history of heart problems and is in need of surgery. Currently has trouble breathing and speaking. -
Michelina's founder and inventor of the pizza roll, Jeno Paulucci, died at age 93. I must say, his snacks helped get me through my first year of university. Many thanks, good sir.

How about the actor Larry Hagman (famous for portraying J.R. on Dallas). Aside from having a 'life-saving liver transplant' in '95, the 80-year old was recently diagnosed with cancer.
-
Hopefully he'll make it through the year so I can include him on my 2012 list I'll pick February 12th, 2012- which would be a nice 20th birthday gift to me.

Megrahi's son says "I want people in the UK and Scotland to see how sick my dad is", I'll happily oblige his request.
-
I'm anticipating news articles to feature claims like "This never would have happened if professional hockey leagues would crack down on hits-to-the-head" (Canadian news outlets ALWAYS talks about the seriousness of 'hits to the head' when a player dies, even when it doesn't pertain at all)
-
Yet another NHL enforcer dies this year, this time it's Wade Belak of a suspected suicide. The things these players will do to get out of training camp.
-
David Cameron wants Lockerbie Bomber back behind bars. Since Libya already has a huge military presence, might as well send even MORE people in to track down Megrahi. Between him and Gaddafi, this could be the best round of hide-and-seek we've seen in a while.

I recently attended a Rise Against concert at Bluesfest here in Ottawa. It was awesome, I had a wonderful time. There were so many people in attendance, and when the band began to play everyone started pushing/crowding toward the stage and my boyfriend and I got smooshed amongst the crowd... it became somewhat hard to enjoy the show so we seeked refuge a bit further from the stage. It was my third time seeing Rise Against in concert (They're my favourite), and I hope to see them again and again. -
Doris Day isn't doing so well these days, according to an entirely credible American magazine I glanced at today. Further 'research' informs me that the 87-year old was attacked by one of her cats at home recently... she's not having a lot of luck, it seems.

Rather than vote for someone famous, I voted for Fergie.

R.I.P Peter Falk (Although, it's nice to finally see some activity on my list again) -
NHL enforcer Derek Boogaard is knocked out at 28. Puck off
-
Roberta McCain, widow of Admiral John S. McCain, Jr, and mother of US Presidential Candidate John McCain turned 99 earlier this year.
-
I was gonna pick a celebrity, but I ended up picking Denis 'Fergie' Frederiksen. ...for all we know he could already be dead.
-
Voted for Fergie.
-
Wow, I'm surprised Liz lasted as long as she did.

Gene Wilder was looking rough in a magazine article I saw earlier (Can't remember which celebrity magazine it was... they're all the same in my mind). Apparently he's been 'ill', we'll see how that plays out.
