As the owner of the Toronto maple Leafs, Brian Burke is no stranger to losing. So I'm sure he took the death of his son, Brendan Burke, fairly well.

I voted for Graham (let's see if I can make it 4 for January)
-
Holy moly, that's 3 deaths in one month for my list (2 in one day). And, now that my hopes are up, I probably won't have another hit for the rest of the year.

One of the greatest hockey players to ever lace up skates Jean beliveau has been hospitalized yet again... this time is a result of a stroke. (He's also had cardiac problems in the past as well as a tumour in the neck.)

Voted for Oscar Niemeyer. (Here we go again!)
-
Elizabeth Taylor. I'm just tired of voting for Niemeyer.

Well... Did you think of this guy? Or that guy? Yes, I did think of them.... which is why I made the assessment that architects seem to live for a very long time. But back on topic, Dee Anthony died. Who, you might ask? He was the manager of Humble Pie, Peter Frampton, Jethro Tull, Tony Bennet and Emerson, Lake and Palmer just to name a few.

American architect Lawrence Halprin died at 93. Is it just me or do architects seem to live for a very long time?
-
Chadwick is DEAD!!! Now to wait for Pat Burns to join him.
-
Niemeyer.... yet again!

Award-winning Australian artist Fred Cress has died of pancreatic cancer at 71
-
Former- good looking Canadian author Nelly Arcan was found dead of an apparent suicide. She was 35. Author's DO seem to last a long time... unless, of course, they kill themselves.

Once again, I voted for Oscar Niemeyer. There's no method to my choosing, just a hunch

Niemeyer. Just a hunch.

Swayze was escorted from the hospital via means of wheelchair. Don't know if it's a testament to his health or if he's just lazy. http://www.celebrity-gossip.net/celebritie...ighting-217138/ (Not a tremendously reliable news source, but the pics don't lie.)

Oscar's got my vote this time. He has sort of slipped under the radar, but at his age he may go at any moment.
-
Not too sure how he's doing health-wise, but Art Linkletter (entertainer) clocked 97-years this July.
-
My vote's on Elizabeth Taylor.
-
Campbell R. Bridges (A Scottish Gemologist) was stabbed after being jumped by 20 men in kenya) he was 74.

The 'Keeper of the Oscars' Steve Meissner (In charge of preparing, delivering, logging, managing and authorizing all handling of the Academy Award Statuettes) has died of a heart attack at the ripe-old age of 48...
-
David Rockefeller, billionaire (and last surviving grandchild of oil tychoon John D. Rockefeller) Clocked 94 this year... if his family history is any indication he's reached the average life expectancy of a 'Rockefeller'

Former goaltender Henry "Hank" Bassen died of a heart attack at age 76.

Right, that's why it was mentioned about a week ago. Lude Check as well, to save a post or two in this thread. To make this post useful, here are the only two hockey players older than Clint Smith: 1. Louis Holmes (born January 29, 1911), the longest-lived hockey player of all time. Lives in Britain, but I've heard that if you send him a letter asking for an autograph, you get a rather nasty note from his son and he keeps any cards you sent for him to sign. 2. Al Suomi (born October 29, 1913). Lives in Illinois and runs a hardware store. He will sign your autographs, as he's apparently in quite good health. I just assumed (since this thread was made specifically for hockey players) that if someone were to have posted about Clint's demise they would've done so in here. Upon not seeing his name in the thread, I figured no one had posted it, thus I took the liberty. Nonetheless, Bill Chadwick (Although he only played minor hockey and is most well-known for his referee work in the nhl) is one of the oldest members of the hockey hall-of-fame. At 94 he's worth keeping an eye on. Other old hall-of-famers are Elmar Lach and Milt Schmidt both at age 91

Clint Smith- one of the oldest living former-nhlers died last week at 95.

Peter Zezel, former NHL player (and a tremendous one at that) succumbed to hemolytic anemia 2 days ago. He was only 44 years of age.
