31 year-old Nick Cannon stepping down from his radio show due to more health problems. -
Michele Baldwin died on the 5th. So I think that means deadsox should have 4 more points. And then Gary Carter died yesterday.

Was just reading up on Raven Alexis, she's the joker of someone in another league I play. You're a brave man picking her for a UK obituary, although I wouldn't say no to a five-page pictorial spread marking her passing. She's won some big Adult Video awards and her Wikipedia article is available in several different languages. So I took the risk. Thats usually a good sign when they have a wiki in at least around 10 languages. She has 8. -

AHHH! I get to touch the top!!! This is also my first successful joker hit. I wonder if I can keep it up, or if it was just all my easy picks that went early... I've read that Nile Rodgers, Norman Spinrad, AND Ethan Zohn have all gotten better. Maybe Funicello or Rajapaksa... or Raven Alexis can make up for them. -

Yeah I was just about to say I only got 9 points for Spinetta. Thank you so much for your hard work, MiB!
-
And Spinetta points for me?
-
Yes... :) :)

Well... Argentinians have been dominating the obituaries lately. Now the one that I bet on has passed. Argentine musician Luis Alberto Spinetta is dead from lung cancer at 62. He's big in Argentina and Latin America altogether, so Im confident in an obit. Come on Brits...! Oh... and if it makes anyone less regretful that they have Gibb in their list, I believe I read somewhere the other day that Spinetta said he was fine and recovering.

A cruise ship has sunk in Italy. 3 are found dead http://news.yahoo.co...-134340580.html Did you already know? Does that mean I get my points for that headline? No. You have to pick the headline yourself, because that would be unfair if I picked them out. But the headline cannot be from a date before the game started. -

Chris Huhne's gone. Good! Now I just need you to give me a link to the headline you wanna match with. Choose wisely. The more words that match up, the more points you get. -
Raw footage from Ernest Borgnine's 1995 roadtrip that he intended on starting a reality show with, but ended up being the documentary 'Ernest Borgnine on the Bus' has been made available online...

We're patient MiB. By the way.. I was just wondering how much money the game runner at stiffs.com makes. So I did some calculations. Entry is $15 each and 1404 teams were submitted to the January 2012 invitational. 15 x 1404 = 21,060. Now, $3,875 of that is given away as prize money to the top competitors. That left a profit of $17,185 for 2012's main game at Stiffs. And there are other games that go on during the year which means many more $15 entries. (Im joining the February game.) Whoever runs Stiffs has the coolest job... But DDP will always be my favorite. ...I hope this wasnt an inappropriate time to post this...

Ok its game on! Paul Bearer had a headline with over 12 words, and thats why the last two are struck through. You can cash in your headlines for points at any time. (You need to do it yourself so you can find the real headline that is the best fit for your predicted one.) Reminder... the headlines cannot predate January 20 and they cannot be from blogs or local news. Here's an example of how I'd like to see a submission... Prediction: Polish scientist says he has spotted life on Mars Link to real headline: http://news.yahoo.com/russian-scientist-claims-signs-life-spotted-venus-070321311.html Thats it. The headline from that link was Russian scientist claims signs of life spotted on Venus So person who made this prediction would score points for the words "scientist", "spotted", "life", and "on" scientist = 9 points spotted = 7 points life = 4 points on = 2 points That headline scored a total of 22 points Enjoy the game. Match headlines wisely. -

One day and 4 hours left to enter! Get creative! Right now I only see 5 valid entries (Paul Bearer, angryGreatness, Unknown Man, maryportfuncity, and msc.) Handrejka, deadsox, Windsor, and ImissMontpellier need to finish their incomplete entries if they want to take part. I'll post my twelve tomorrow. Remember the rules, and use them to your advantage. Gimme some nice strategies. -

Michele Baldwin has completed her journey along the Ganges. I know that she is on deadsox's DDP team, and also my Cash4Cadavers team. "My health is failing me now, but I'm happy that I have been able to leave behind a vision for my daughters as well as the women of India." -

Picked her on one of my theme teams. I thought she was obscure enough to be a unique, but sure to get an obit because of her work and her relation to Steven Spielberg. -

Addressing people's questions and such.. Yes, I want 12 headlines from each player. You get points for each word that matches the headlines, so if youre trying to catch points, you'll wanna use adjectives, full names and all that. A strategy like that will raise your chances of matching words and scoring. Because scoring depends on the words.. NO MERCY FOR MISSPELLED WORDS! I see some up there right now. Unless you find a misspelled news article.. And keep all your headlines on one post. And i dont see many utilizing the number bonus.. And Im changing one thing about the numbers. Spelled out numbers WILL be equivalent to digit numbers. To Handrejka, I'll likely just hand it off to anyone who wants to take over if I dont have internet access this summer. One person could take over, or multiple people could watch the scoreboard. So dont feel like you cant include Olympic headlines. I havent recorded any entries yet, so may edit your entries for now. I may record whatever full entries are up on Monday. -
