I cannot sleep because of this. Damn.. I was thinking of picking LaLanne because I was given a Jack LaLanne juicer for Christmas. And picks like that are what gave me success in 2010. I picked Tony Curtis because I wanted to pick a survivor from the DL of the year I was born. I picked Gloria Stuart because her character in Titanic died at 100 and she turned 100 last year. I feel like I've set myself up for a bad year. Aretha Franklin, Michael Douglas, and Dick Cheney all say they feel fine, and Kenneth Stevenson and Jack LaLanne, two people I felt strong about have already died. But I'll stop moping around about it now and get out of the way...

My first deathpool hit, Jenn died today last year. She would have put me in 1st place at the beginning of the year had she been granted an obit from the Brits. She got 4th place on Survivor back in '05. This is the picture I gave MiB to use for her on DDP. It was cut off, so you couldnt tell that she was making that face at the sundae she won at the "Survivor Auction" challenge in a later episode of the show. Her cancer was surely building up right there in that very scene. And she had no idea.

There are rumours that Duvalier may have returned to Haiti because he is gravely ill and wants to see him homeland again before he dies. More specifically, a Haitian twitterer (you don't get many of those to the pound) claims that Duvalier has pancreatic cancer. Yes, I've subsequently heard those rumours too, though what prompted me to ask for a swap was the possibility of some political opponent arranging an accident (or some nutter just taking him out).
