The writer Gillian Freeman, probably most famous for the novel "The Leather Boys" (which was made into a film starring recent DDP album Dudley Sutton), is apparently very frail.

Authors Last A Long Time, But....

I notice today marks the release of Vanessa Lafaye's final book, so keep an eye peeled for any reviews that might sneak her into late QO territory. -
Enzo Apicella, the communist cartoonist who also created the branding for Pizza Express, dead at 96.

Fuck a Halloween, but tonight I will be watching 1978's "The Paul Lynde Halloween Special". Featuring Lynde, Margaret "Wicked Witch" Hamilton, Kiss, Betty White, Billy "not Hervé Villechaize the other one" Barty, Florence Henderson, Tim Conway and the Osmonds.

Interview with Doddie Weir here. Says he was diagnosed in December 2016 and has "a year left if I'm lucky". Which really goes against the usual DDP ALS thinking: either they die in the first two years or after five.

Have to laugh at that SkyBet advert for "responsible gambling controls" where they have four of the five Soccer Saturday regulars but no Merse.

Let's create lots of work for the mods by suggesting "descriptions" for threads that currently don't have any. For instance, Wrestlers/actors should surely be "Getting buried"

Can we get "Ashas to Ashas" back on the Bollywood Stars thread? -

Death Race 2019 Form Guide #8: Lil Xan Part of the "throw a rock and hit a Soundcloud rapper" initiative of deadpooling that has provided a decent bounty over the past two years, why not take a punt on Redlands, California's finest? In the wake of Mac Miller's death, Xanny Boy announced his retirement from rap music at the grand old age of 22, and followed it up by being hospitalised three weeks later for what he claimed was "eating too many Flamin' Hot Cheetos". It'd be a downer if you missed out on Xan.

I think this makes Patrick Duggan the oldest living Father Ted priest then? Assuming he is still alive: the fact there is another actor out there called Patrick Duggan (as well as it being Patrick Malahide's real name) makes definitive proof a little hard to find, but he was still up and about three years ago:

He's Buddhist iirc, didn't he have some monks come out on the pitch at one point?

Slam Guide #9: The Ugandan Giant, Kamala From deepest, darkest... Tate County, Mississippi, comes Jim Harris. A journeyman wrestler (including on World of Sport against a young(ish) Big Daddy), Harris hit paydirt in the early 80s when he slapped some face paint on, started waving a spear around and pretended to be Idi Amin's brother. He doesn't have much time to be a racist stereotype these days though, after diabetes took both his legs and left him on his deathbed 12 months ago. He made it through the first 10 months of 2018, but will his luck run out and get frog-splashed?

Doesn't look like the kind of crash people are exiting alive. BT Sport has had something of a cursed day.

Eileen will be getting in touch with him soon...

In recent times the Leslie Grantham spot based off an appearance on some Channel 5 talking head show is up there.

Another Funk Brother leaves us: Wah Wah Watson, aged 67. Perhaps best remembered for his work on "Papa Was A Rolling Stone".

Was wondering if anyone would post that here or if you'd keep your powder dry for 2019. Definitely gonna be a popular pick among the upper echelons of the DDP next year.

Same reason anyone who is important enough doesn't get sidelined into a general thread. I mean if Lionel Messi was diagnosed with leukaemia we'd probably not shove him into Time Added. This is Roman Reigns, it's not like we've started a thread for the one from Ascension that isn't Viktor.
-
Thoughts: 1) Usually a 33-year-old male in good physical shape should defeat leukaemia pretty easily 2) However, this is a recurrence. Is there any information out there yet on the specific form of cancer it is? 3) If you're a recovering cancer sufferrer, why the fuck would you go on HGH? I mean that's clearly what's caused this, right? 4) There's always one dead pool pick each year that's a big name celeb who nobody really bothered to pick because we all assumed it was a low form of cancer (I'm thinking Tito Villanova especially here). Could The Big Dog be next year's?

I was going to say, could be a new Curse of Atuk.
