Could easily do this with a bunch of wrestlers, so I'll just contribute Chris Benoit and bounce:

Weird how little traction his death has garnered. He was probably one of the three most famous porn stars in the world during his heyday, and his arrest/imprisonment was a big news story when it happened. But yeah, rot in piss.

Yep, with Jon Bruce and Zhong Yiren both currently failing the QO test, it's down to PSV Eindhoven press spokesman Thijs Slegers to bring some life (death) to this round of cup action. Slegers was diagnosed with acute leukemia in 2020 and subsequently underwent a stem cell transplant, but last month discovered his body had rejected it and had very little time left on this planet. His story received plenty of attention in the Netherlands, sparking a stem cell recruitment drive across the country, and even got some publicity in the UK thanks to Zlatan Ibrahimovic declaring Slegers his "only friend in Holland". The big-nosed choker yet again failed to secure a victory when it mattered though, as Slegers died at 46. Grim Up North goes 7 points up over Perhaps as a result. The hunt for a Zhong Yiren QO could prove decisive: msc is currently beating TheKillingTime by dint of having more hits, but any news source in English confirming ZY's death would send TKT through. gcreptile 17 vs Arghton 0 alt obits guy 9 vs YorkshireBanker 0 deadsox 7 vs Gooseberry Crumble 0 The Old Crem 3 vs Banana 9 diego 3 vs Sir Cunto 9 Sideik 6 vs wannamaker 9 GuyFromFuture 0 vs CaptainChorizo 6 CalebH 0 vs Captain Hemlock 6 BabyBlue 0 vs Annami 6 Hell 6 vs LizLemon 0 Perhaps 9 vs Grim Up North 16 An Fear Baeg 6 vs Pop_Zeus 0 ladyfiona 3 vs DevonDeathTrip 6 SpadeCooley 6 vs JoeMoneypenny 3 TQR 9 vs MariNisia 9 msc 6 vs TheKillingTime 6

The dry patch does tally with what I was thinking at the end of last year, that this wasn't going to be a high-scoring year for dead-pooling at all. 2020 cleared out a lot of the generic "elderly and old people illnesses" with COVID, and 21/22 saw people diagnosed with cancer over that time dying sooner because of the hospital backlogs. Now everything's back to normal, we're almost starting with a game reset.

I'll do an update and calculate who actually goes through in the current draws later on tonight. End of the month has really snuck up on us.

Didn't know whether to put this here, Detective Work or Fringes of Fame, but..... Some may be familiar with the late 70s proto-reality TV show The Big Time, in which current deadpooler short-lister Esther Rantzer sent Joe Public out to do the jobs of celebrities. It gave Sheena Easton her big break, most famously. Those with an interest in British wrestling history would best remember it as the show where a teacher by the name of Keith Rawlinson was "trained" as a professional wrestler, except nobody told him it was fake and the wrestlers proceeded to beat the living piss out of him for 12 weeks or so until he was hospitalised. What a prank. Anyway, I've managed to find Mr Rawlinson online, in a Facebook post from The Bible Society talking about how seven years ago he was diagnosed with cancer but his faith helped send it into remission. Looking a bit Keith Barron as well.

Her death would be a terrible loss for the white black Asian (this week) community.

Reminds me of a vaguely viral clip I've been trying to find online but failing. I'm pretty sure it's from the US gameshow Beat Shazam, where the contestant guesses the intro to "Drops of Jupiter" by Train in two seconds, there's massive celebrations on-screen and then it immediately cuts to "Contestant X, 1970-2015" or whatever, but no joy. It's not this guy, I'm pretty sure they were white and it was definitely a few years ago rather than recent. Anyone else remember?

Spent 30 minutes mocking the terrible performance of Anna on this week's episode of Mastermind, and then the episode ends with this:

I'm sure we'd all like to wish the Digger a very happy engagement to his new fiancee, Lesley Ann Smith, 66.

While things are a little quiet here, just as a heads-up: I'm going on holiday April 1st, so the teams going up may be slightly late (or maybe I'll do it on the plane if BA's wifi is strong enough and the guy on the seat in front hasn't leaned his chair back).

91 and just signing a deal with Adrian Broner, who has won one fight since March 2017.

This tweet seems to suggest that the wife of boxing writer Steve Bunce, supplier of many a QO for those picking pugilists on the DDP, died at the beginning of last December. She made some headlines herself in 2013 when she claimed to have been spat at by a student during a school rugby game. -
That is Philippa Forrester between Little and Large, although the bouffant hair really isn't flattering.

Perennial thread favourite/bellend Lord Miles has gone missing in Afghanistan, hasn't been in contact with anyone since March 6.

Jimmy Carter's longevity really is the kind of thing that makes me think those "adenochrome and baby stem cells" conspiracy skitzos are onto something.

One person did pick the presumably-no-longer-in-intensive-care-with-COVID Alyson Williams, though.

The alive/dead status of this video, effectively the Woodstock of British light entertainment of the 80s and 90s: Andrew Paul (1961-) Graham Cole (1952-) Robert Kilroy-Silk (1942-) Caron Keating (1962-2004) Syd Little (1942-) Eddie Large (1941-2020) John "Captain Birdseye" Hewer" (1922-2008) Andi Peters (1970-) Lawrie McMenemy (1936-) Howard Lew Lewis (1941-2018) Frank Thornton (1921-2013) Roy Castle (1932-1994) Gordon Burns (1942-) Nick Ross (1947-) Stephanie Cole (1941-) Frank Bruno (1961-) Vicki Michelle (1950-) Angela Rippon (1944-) Frazer Hines (1944-) Clive Hornby (1944-2008) Lynn Faulds Wood (1948-2020) John Stapleton (1946-) Tony Blackburn (1943-) Bobby Davro (1958-) Eamonn Holmes (1959-) Pat Sharp (1961-) Tony Britton (1924-2019) Henry Cooper (1934-2011) Honor Blackman (1925-2020) Gloria Hunniford (1940-) Lionel Blair (1928-2021) Only 19 still standing, so no DDP theme team unless you want to pick ol' Tidybeard as well...

Stripper impressario David Richards, who made headlines a few months ago after being imprisoned for trying to murder his ex-girlfriend (because she'd left him for Kirk Norcross off TOWIE), found dead in his jail cell.

It's the pianist Judy Hall, the same Judy Hall who is the only Judy Hall that comes up (six times) if you search for her name on this forum. I do apologize to whoever said they were going to take over running the cup next year.

Topol and Tom Sizemore can be excused on the "died too recently", but Anne Heche, Paul Sorvino and Charlbi Dean - who was literally the lead actress in a film nominated for Best Picture -?
