Had him in my draft 20 as well, back to the drawing board we go.

As a member of the fourth estate I think it's because (non-deadpooling) people are (traditionally) less busy over Christmas so they pay more attention to the passing of celebrities. There's never anything on the news Xmas Day other than "Queen said this, Pope said that", so they go pretty big on "James Brown/Eartha Kitt/George Michael Dead"

There's a couple of borderline names I think a few top-level players will be considering this year (an artist whose very minor fame is dwarfed by that of their musician partner, and someone who made only one TV appearance - not related to their health - but would be guaranteed a QO when passing). Can the committee give any inklings into whether those names would pass the fame check or shall I just shove them in my starting lineup and see what happens?

Perhaps (well, definitely) most notable for being a part of British TV history: it was during "Bingo" by Catch on a repeat of The Chart Show that news of Diana's car accident first broke.

Contemporary hymnwriter Susan Palo Cherwien is in hospice care, for those of you who need a hymnographer in the 2022 DDP.

It's going to come out eventually that the vaccine interacts poorly with some form of PED. Which is why a bunch of bodybuilders have carked it this year from heart issues. Obviously football clubs won't want anyone to know how much "special medicine" they're taking off the pitch....

Yeah, the further Katie Price's career goes the further she goes away from "light-hearted British national treasure whose constant fuckups keep us entertained without there being any real danger to herself" and closer to "Paula Yates".

Who Should Make the Deathlist in 2022?
Spade_Cooley replied to The Old Crem's topic in DeathList Forum
The DL should take a punt on those rumours from earlier this year that Terry Venables was basically a care home husk right now, imho. -
The concurrent release of "Get Back" and the Nesmith retrospectives have been a massive fillip for those of us who've long argued The Monkees > The Beatles.

More updates on Jimmy Rave's situation, it's gone from much worse to he's dead.

Authors Last A Long Time, But....

Funniest thing about Anne Rice was her taking a break from vampire novels to write Exit to Eden, a BDSM romance novel/proto-50 Shades. Then Hollywood got the rights to it and turned it into a buddy cop film with Rosie O'Donnell and Dan Akroyd. -

Park So Dam, which people who can remember three months ago will probably know best from Squid Games, diagnosed with thyroid cancer. -
Terrible, terrible show, one of the nadirs of latter-period BBC 3 (and there were plenty of them). Seemed to be a cunt in real life as well.

Who Should Make the Deathlist in 2022?

Three names I'd not be at all surprised to see make DL debuts next year on the "feels DL-y and old enough" protocol: Rupert Murdoch, Don King, Hans Blix. -
Yeah, if I'd seen this footage of Nesmith from last month I'd definitely have pencilled him in for 2022:

Is Roy Welensky (Prime Minister of Rhodesia between 1956 and 1963) the only head of state with a confirmed, documented professional boxing record? He had five fights (3-2-0, two KOs) in the mid-1920s. I know lots of politicos boxed amateur (Idi Amin was pretty handy iirc?), but was Welensky the only one to go professional?

How’s Your 2022 Shortlist going?

My research has been so fucking slack this year, and I haven't got much time off over Christmas to make up for that. The Drive for Five looks like being delayed another year. Although I did come across a 100% definite death, 40% possible QO yesterday which I'm umm-ing and err-ing on ("notable" rather than "famous" within their field, but he's the guy behind [deleted], which has a passionate if niche fanbase online). -
Does grime go in this thread or elsewhere? Regardless, Ruff Sqwad's DJ Scholar is dead.

Mad that late 90s Corrie actor and failed pop star Matthew Marsden is now a US citizen and spends all his time on Twitter acting like a 60-year-old from Arkansas who just discovered the internet.

If he makes it to January 1st I assume MC Ren will be #1 on the list. -
Mad that we could all live long enough to see a DDP co-host born late enough to make The Loud House references.

Me and I will stand by that statement. Only people who can come close are Public Enemy and the Pet Shop Boys.
