According to the TV Tome website entry for the episode, 'Jimmy' is a young lad. Given that 'our' David would have been 27 in 1953, I think it is a safe bet that IMDB have made a mistake. Unless he was a very young looking 27 year old

Fido Oh well, life's a bitch...

My mother always told me that my inability to tell the difference between male and female would lead to problems in later life

Yes - you can find it here.

And I always thought that was a man

Looks like CBS messed up... CBS 'sorry' for Arafat newsflash In short, they broadcast news of Arafat's death 5 minutes before the end of CSI:New York, interrupting the programme. It is still unclear whether Arafat died again during the re-showing

Things to do while waiting for Death ... 2004

He needs all the help he can get.... Dubya -
Ahh, that explains why Abu Hamza isn't a member
-
He also appeared in 92 and 94, so really this is his 4th appearance on the list. Will we get away with the 'bug in the software' excuse again??

Oh no, by all accounts we have enough tw@ts and w@nkers here as it is

In keeping with recent deaths, such as Princess Alice and Fred Dibnah, a photo tribute to Emlyn Hughes.
-
Do you mean this person?

To echo The Four Horsemen - most of the posts today, when not composed of puerile rants, full of obscenities, express the sadness that Emlyn has passed away. What they do not do, however, is lapse into the 'media based grief frenzy' that open-minded referred to. Perhaps what we need is for those people who visit to pass on their 'Rest in Peace' messages to rip their clothes, cover their faces in ash, and have hysterical breakdowns for the next week. That may help balance the messages from those who come in, have a quick look, and ignore those posts which may invalidate their rants. As to Emlyn being an inspiration - lets not blow things out of all proportion. He was a footballer and quiz show captain. Yes, he played well, yes he was funny, but nowhere on his CV do I see his struggle for freedom against tyranny, as you may see on Nelson Mandela's or Martin Luther King jnr's; nowhere do I see his fight for justice in Ethiopia, as I do on Bob Geldof's; nowhere do I see his selfless dedication to others, as I see on Mother Teresa's; and nowhere do I see his fight for his country that I see on Gandhi's. Those people can lay claim to being inspirational! As for patting ourselves on the back - Emlyn was not a nominee on this years list, so we are more likely to be hitting our heads at our failure to include him

The list is created in December, looking forward to the coming year. As such, a number of people may come to prominence during the year, such as Zarquarwi, who was probably unknown to 99.9% of people last December, or illnesses may become known only after the list is finalised, such as Arafat's. As the list is fixed, we have to accept that there will be some big losses which we did not predict. Also, given the number is limited to 50 people, not everyone can be included. There is a thread for people you would like to nominate for next year. Likewise, a thread for people we missed during the year.

So, should we open the box, or nail it shut for good??
-
Possibly 'cos they haven't released a decent single in years

For information - this site is not about betting on celebrities deaths. As had been said many time, and probably more eloquently than I can manage, it is about recognising the inevitable in life - namely death, predicting who may leave this life within the next year, and discussing those who have departed, or appear as if they will, during the year. You may not like us, may think we are sick, but yet still you come and post here. Finally, I assume only the limit on name length prevents your full name showing as 'at least my mind is in working order'. Given that Emlyn died of a brain tumour, I have to wonder who is the sick person here.

Official confirmation.... Football great Emlyn Hughes dies

Not even one about reaching the front of the Death List cue ??

MR Ron, with informed, thoughful, lucid and profanity-free ranting like that, feel free to rant to your heart's content

This link should help. She is an actress, although I have to admit the name didn't ring any bells with me either, and had to search to find out who she is. For the record, she was 90 back in August.

Given that Fred was not royalty, it is unlikely that we will see a set of photos from his funeral al la Queen Juliana or Princess Alice. So, instead, we must make do with photos from his life.
-
For those who enjoy photographs of Royal funerals (and we all know who you are!!), this link should provide seconds of entertainment

Time to look back at Ron P's quote about the Pope, as it seems much more relevant here

I can only assume that they get their own 72 virgins, or else with all the suicide bombers heading their way, there wouldn't be 72 virgins for long. I don't think a recruitment campaign based upon meeting 72 whores would be as succesful - unless you were trying to recruit Wayne Rooney
