  1. I have a long love hate relationship with alcohol. My best mate and flatmate sat me down this week and had a strong word in my ear as my alcohol use was climbing again. Its partly down to a shit situation with work and having my anxiety BPD roaring through this last 4 weeks. Not helped by Lack of PPE, and being caught in a couple of manager's gunfight for control during the lockdown. In simple terms, we are keyworkers with nothing to do and they dont want us sat at home. So I've been out in the general public doing very unappreciated tasks. Very stressful.

So I admit it's been a bottle of wine most nights during the lockdown. But late last night I was informed I'm going back to my normal job from Tuesday which can restart safely. This removed the stress totally, I'm happy back with my team, and I can relax knowing I'll be making a difference with a purpose.

Today I'll buy Vimto my normal drink of choice and normality will return.

  2. Safe to say Twatter has gone a little mad.

There's always a low point during any conflict (war normally but you get my drift) when the country turns on the Government. Today seems to be that day.

Happy to report I'm feeling alot better. Muscle aches and joint aches almost gone still a little sore. The cough is more of a tickle on the throat rather than dry cough now and I seem to be coughing less and sitting in the sun for an hour today I didn't cough once.

I understand why you said be patient , very frustrating having no taste or smell to the point I'm worrying it Won't come back. Did you say about a week it took for yours to come back? I did eat a bit of chocolate before and I could've sworn I tasted some slightly but now I'm wondering if I just imagined it.

Ibu- profen I keep well away from I've notice  they seem to make emptying your bladder harder, haven't took them in years since that.

Glad to hear this mate, fingers crossed for a speedy return to normality.

  5. Well I'm still working, but my normal job is 95% defunct, so been diverted to Highways. Weirdly enough, it feels pretty safe being in a van alone all day checking for defects and having very limited contact with the public.

What I'm finding the most annoying is the staff working from home have turned into the worst keyboard warriors. Do this, do that without the basic knowledge of the stuff we are having to face, not least the prospect of going out into the community and thinking could this be the day I catch it.

It didn't help matters that my employer declared us all keyworkers, but got caught out as the 750k volunteers came forward for Boris. Now it's a case of work or we'll furlough you and that may affect your pension.....

Once this is over, I fear for the fights and battles ahead, as management arent coming through this well compared us lot just getting on with the job.

  6. Given my flatmate who is watching a Golden Girls marathon with me ( heck anything is more cheerful than the news) was stunned when I corrected him that they'd not all passed away. Good olde Betty White gawd love her.

Well I lost both Zante holiday and Lanzarote next March.

But I have my job, and I'll get my money back. Just stuck with 15 days annual leave to take over the winter. So I'll be decorating my flat next month now instead.

The process of getting my money back doesn't look easy I have to say. But I'll get away next year now instead.

    Well this aged...badly.

Currently Zakynthos is with the rest of Greece on a fortnight lock down. They've had 1 death from Corona following a pilgrimage from Israel.

8 weeks to go, but let's be fair,  I think we can forget it.

Ah yes, I had that last week. Apparently there's a strand at the moment that mimics many symptoms of coronavirus which presumably exists just to scare the shit out of the paranoid. Although at one point when I was coughing and choking my head off I thought "Hey, if I go into town right now I could get the entire west coast of Scotland quarantined through panic!"

Or do what I did at work. Put a sign up saying infected with unknown virus. Then refusing to go home

  9. Whilst yes its worrying, if you have a normal immune system then you should be able to fight this off speaking to a GP friend of mine. Mind you, theres a nasty cold/cough doing the rounds here at the moment which I caught over the weekend and is now developing nicely on my chest via a hacking cough.

Unless that Chinese student who coughed over me by the University last Thursday wasnt in the clear!

Neville Buswell who most famously played Ray Langton in Corrie, dead at 76: https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/breaking-coronation-street-star-neville-21370181

    IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0124628/

Edit: Died on Christmas Day last year, so Deathray misses out on one of his Cobbles Theme Team.

As a Corrie fan, he was a fine actor during the late 60s until he left in 1978. The reintroduction of Ray in 2005 was a time when bringing a character back just worked and his scenes with Anne Kirkbride and Bill Roache were excellent.

Things could get really nasty. I believe this is the first stage to divorce. I agree with toast this may have be a crush or infatuation he had for a few years before they met.Of course he was able to meet and date this girl he's crazy about, being a prince but those types of relationships rarely turn out well especially with bad women like Meghan. She definitely doesn't love him ,infact I think she only loves herself ,see how she treats her father the man in her life who's been with her longest. Abandoned because he had an heart attack at the wrong time .

It's looking very likely sometime in the future (not the near future) Meghan will do a tell all 'explosive' interview.

Agree. It's got all the hallmarks of an abusive relationship with our Megan. Trouble is, her old man isn't playing ball, what with the interviews it's all coming across as rather sordid now. I guess the mess Andrew is in is deflecting matters slightly, but with a pending court case for all, itll come back into focus.

But like I said before, loose respect of the relatives of the other half and you've got to be pretty cast iron solid to survive.
