EDIT: I had originally thought the Fifth Doctor was an INFP and a few websites out there argue that he is. However, the people in the discussion on this page present a very strong and overwhelmingly convincing case that the Fifth Doctor is in fact an INTP: https://listfulofhorrors.wordpress.com/2018/02/02/dr-who-and-myers-briggs/ Case closed. INFP screen heroes are actually very rare as, in real life, quiet loner idealist introverts of this type end up being writers, not gregarious action heroes. One of the other rare examples of an INFP science fiction hero is Luke Skywalker, who joins the rebels as a naive idealist and wishes to follow in his father's footsteps as a Jedi. Later his idealism leads him on a quest to redeem his fallen father and eventually embrace non-violence. His ideals shattered by Kylo Ren's betrayal and blaming himself for his own weakness and failure to help Kylo, the introvert withdraws and becomes a recluse on an island, rejecting the Jedi and seeing their belief system as toxic. Kylo himself is also most likely an INFP turned evil. Frodo Baggins and Fox Mulder are apparently also screen examples of INFP heroes and we can see that Luke, Frodo and Fox are all quite similar to each other and all very different from the Fifth Doctor. The Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann) is definitely much closer to being an INFP. Besides Kylo Ren, Sweeney Todd is another good example of an INFP who has become twisted and evil by the betrayals he has experienced.

So now the dust has settled on series 11, yay or nay Biblio and others? It seems that people are most readily comparing it to the Fifth Doctor's era so how did you feel? Despite the very weak writing from Chibnall, terrible acting from some parties and virtually absent characterisation, I found myself warming to it a bit as it went along. You will probably disagree with this but I felt it was basically the "Fifth Doctor done better", essentially due to the absence of Eric Saward. As terrible as Chibbers is, he is no Eric, thank heavens. Great to see more emphasis on semi-historicals and the character's pacifism. Best episodes (in chronological order): Demons of the Punjab Witch Finders It Takes You Away (Dr Who does Solaris for kiddies - hooray!) Honourable mentions: Battle of What's its Name finale. Rosa -bit of a misfire for me but okayish. Everything else was forgettable dreck, IMHO. Rumours are Susan might be in the New Year special because the BBC just put out a little animated short about her. I'll believe it when I see it.

Cheers! I'll have to have a look at the book. The other big one that happened when I was a kid was the Knowles family/Nullabor Plain alleged encounter. There was a big media circus around it. Blowed if I know what to make of that one. Any ideas? I am a bit of a sucker for reading early historical cases like the alleged Mystery Airships of the 1890s and the supposed "Space Battle of Nuremburg" in 1561, etc. Do you have a look at them in your book?

Okay, you are not insane then. By the way, have you ever looked into my home-grown UFO mystery, the Frederick Valentich case? Personally, I think he was flying upside down and confused by the reflection of his own plane's lights. One of the more interesting conspiracy theories is that he faked his death and re-emerged much later as the fraudster John Friedrich, which is a weird, weird story in its own right.
