You'll Never Find Us in the Guardian Obits at Parties. The moment Spade probably thought "right, that fucker is going to replace me..." GOT AN OBIT - Fred Rister (cost me money, the bastard), Manohar Parrikar, Edmund Capon DIED, DIDNT OBIT - Chris Wilson, Jonny Savile (?), Dennis Richardson, Derek Maitland, WT Johnson, Tanya Gendle, John Cocks, Paul Dewar, Spencer Bohren, Jeff Blackshear, Syed Islam, Dave Agosti DIED LATER - Bill Freehan, Karen Lewis, Joe Vento NOT SURE - Gillian Lee, Andy Anderson And my penance was siphoning through all those WEP teams...

Is it? OK< don't spread this around, but apparently Gary Burgess is a bit unwell...

Probably a post for Willz to skip over. Steve Bronski's cause of death revealed by friends to have been a house fire, as he had been incapacitated by a stroke in 2018 and was unable to escape. Poor sod.

Political Frailty as brought to you by Corrie script writers. "Today, she's even iller than she was yesterday!" (drag out for year)

Thanks! Given Gooseberry's love for aging actresses, we should be glad there wasn't the last 50 instragrams posted by Joan Collins or what not!
-
Thanks, added. You've made some folk jump up the list into contention for now, 9 lists in. No, not Vera Miles yet to save your annual query!
-
Will just put my team here as its clear by now I keep the oldies on until they drop here. First here is the alphabetical list by first name as requested: Angela Lansbury Arnold Yarrow Betty White Bob Barker David Attenborough David Butler David Graham Dick van Dyke Donald Pelmear Eva Marie Saint Glynis Johns Henry Kissinger James Lovelock Jacques Delors Jill Knight Jimmy Carter June Lockhart Leslie Philips Mel Brooks Nehemiah Persoff Peter Tobin JOKER Queen Elizabeth II Tony Bennett William Russell Ysanne Churchman I assume these are all known names, or known faces at least! Tobin is the joker because he doesn't fit into the whole "old notables" thing. Sutcliffe had the good graces to die and save up a space for someone nice, time for Peter to fuck off too. In spoiler tags they are here in their original order for my notes (we've got to 1926 now), along with 5 subs in case any of these people fail to see 2022.
-
You know those annoying people who forget to tell game hosts someone on their teams has died? Yeah, well, doing some spring cleaning for the 2022 Hares Pool and apparently I picked former Wimbledon champ Budge Patty in this, 2021, variation. He died October 4th.

I'll get a friendly admin to help when they wake up.

Sterling work, @Gooseberry Crumble, but any chance you could spoiler tag some of those instagram posts. The thread is struggling to open on my laptop now, let alone my phone!

Christie's in the ballpark within a century and still sells like hot cakes, so possibly one day?

Oh I know the score. DI stretched out relaxing in January, triumphantly going "Everyone died in December, mate." -

Off Wiki's deaths in 2021 we have had more LOTM than hits the past few days. If more obscure names appeared I am unaware of them as yet. Short of a splurge at Christmas, this wont be a record breaking year. I write the sodding obits so I'm hoping there isn't a splurge at Christmas! -
We've only got 7 lists in (I'm out of practice here but iirc 90% of lists come in after the 20th!) so right SHITLOADS. An aging novelist, a somewhat forgotten sports star, there seems early consensus around an oft-mentioned DL forum name yet to make their DL debut, some of the A list are now clearly on the radar for some due to age, and around 5 or 6 of the survivors from the current list have no points whatsoever right now. It's complete tactical anarchy but it will merge into more of a shape when more folk get involved.

Ah, life is the name of the game! I was holding my tongue but since you mention: Always struck me that Anne Rice was a far bigger fan of Anne Rice than I. The "no editors" stance was frankly courageous (in the Sir Humphrey style) and her stuff was frankly unreadable after she became famous, because she needed editors badly. There was also that weird period where she turned on horror (which made her) and started writing about Jesus instead, and only wanting to talk about the Jesus books, only to soon after become an atheist. She came across as a bit full of herself and quick to burn bridges. Still, she was massively successful in what was a once niche genre and her success pathed the way for other writers.

And of course, they can PM them to me to be included in the Crowdsourced Deathlist. Cheap plug!
-
All caveats ahead of time about them being a bunch of cunts, but when The Sun start attacking a Tory PM, its game over time for them. Boris Johnson accused of flouting THREE Covid lockdown rules in late-night dinner date with wife Carrie last year (thesun.co.uk)
-
Or the musicals guy. Who knew such a common name would be so common?
-
Aye, and there's still winter for him to get even more popular. Theresa May was fecked for nearly a year and they couldn't shift her. Anyhow, I can confirm that whisky is great, and Boris Johnson is still a cunt. As you were.
-
Just to note the reaction to this one, @Bibliogryphon, I think Banana means the American sports star, not our Sir William. Although the actor William Russell is also much frailer now than he was pre-lockdown and would probably make a good DL pick, alas.
-
Aye, that was my point. I know, unusually succinct for me but its Friday and I'm looking forward to a whisky!
-
Just to point out, as it sort of backs you up here, Labours recent polling revival mysteriously coincide with them promoting a bunch of the moderates to bigger cabinet roles (Yvette Cooper for example) and them actually remembering to call Boris Johnson a cunt in public. Don't recall any cucumbers though. I maintain my (fairly small c conservative) view that this shambles are in trouble as it is without the opposition being of use, and fucking doomed if Labour wake up before the next election. This is actually another point. When Wilson went down, there was lots of Labour big names who could take over. When they axed Thatcher, you had the likes of Hurd, Clark, Forsyth etc as solid statesmen to support Major. Blair always had Brown and Prescott to back him up or bash people for their own pet policies. Cameron and May, well they had quiet work nerds like Hammond. How the fuck is left in this government? The talent roster is shallower than a book by Jordan. There are no replacements, just people dreaming of being Francis Urquhart, when all of them are those guys he bumped off. When Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak are your big hopes, you're a few points off being at defcon fucked. I've got the fat, stupid, journalist and ego bit here, but I didn't know Boris Johnson was a lesbian!

I was just thinking how rare it was to see this forums many diverse political wings nearly all united in disdain and dislike for one guy. A Christmas miracle!
