When Predictor asked about this case 3 months ago, I said she appeared to be a no-name with some TV appearances and her cancer seemed to be under control. I've made better predictions, I'll be honest.

A Terry Funk sort of update. Basically confirming his memory is shot and he remains in a nursing home now. Whisper it but I think this latest retirement is probably for real now. I admit the source doesn't talk in the most clear English you'll read...

More like names for 2035 if we're all still around! (Joan Collins is closer to consideration imo.)
-
Anecdotal counterpoint to your anecdote - my mum remembers the show, though she remembers Rhoda more!

I'm under the impression ( @Toast would know better) that the US TV names the Cmme pick like, say, the entire Mary Tyler Moore cast seemingly, would be far better known to the Cmme's generation over here due to 70s/80s UK TV showings. Like how, say, the Frasier and Friends casts are to my generation.

Lovelocks the only one I can see on the list but if they wanted him he'd have been on it years ago.

I used to have her down as born in 1934 but I think that was the case of someone on the internet making an error and everyone copying them blindly. She's very much a 1930 child. Actually no, here it is from Heather Tilbury Philips in 2020, who used to work with Quant and is still in touch with her. The first sentence may remain of interest to others given Quant doesn't appear in public much anymore (and indeed, cancelled some things pre-pandemic lockdown).

I see what you did there!

Famous celebrity births , pregnancies and babies
msc replied to Gooseberry Crumble's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Objection! You created this thread for "famous celebrities"... -
Ah, a child of the Bidmead era? You poor soul! The Weeping Angels episode was quite good, by Chibnall standards. The Sontaran one had Jonathan Watson as a Sontaran Commander, so I can't hate that. The one in between, to quote yer mate LFN () was "so fucking bad, and I mean BAD!" But he was overrating it quite a lot there tbh.

The World of the Snowflake

Keep in mind that Richard Littlejohn is the man who was able to make Michael Winner look the decent guy in comparison on live TV once. -
Arghtons super long one did. It's why I picked Dominic Cummings.

Politically saying anything else one year in torpedoes his term. Duh.

He's been added. Others will in time. Despite Wordpress crashing repeatedly, the LOTM is updated (who knew there was a Blue Peter theme team once?), the LOTL has more names on it, and we're up to date on the front page stuff like obits. (The theme team league update can wait though.) Last time we were all up to date on DDP obits, the Reaper started up like he was suffering a Gooseberry Crumble enema...

How old is he actually? I never understood this one as he came to fame doing the 2010(ish) marathon? But even if he was *only* 80-90 at that time, an 80-90 year doing marathons is still impressive stuff without the need to exaggerate the age!

Harris was acting President for 1 hour 25 mins, which is less than that time Cheney was while Bush had a minor checkup... (Circa 8 years from 2001 to 2009...) Issues Acid reflux Arthritis Nerve damage in hands/foot In other words, he's 79. Lack of evidence (to date) of Parkinsons, strokes, artery problems, cholesterol issues and a benign polyp removed. I now know more about Biden's health than I do my own. The pancreatic cancer suffering Queen may be a better deadpool bet.

Aye, he was a very good interviewer - better than Paxman, in my book. Still an idiotic career move though, the Andrew Neil of ten years ago would have seen right through the folk he now dislikes.
-
He's gone from there already. Apparently, despite him telling everyone it wouldn't be like FOX News, he now thinks its gone all FOX News.
-
Watch for Andrew Neil sliding back in like nothing happened! (Marr used to be decent but that stroke a few years ago utterly fucked him over. Not just the lack of mobility down one side, but his mind was clearly not as sharp anymore.)

That'd KO many academic books! But we are in basic agreement here.
-
Depends on the book, the author and the publisher! Anyhow, this is no longer my problem.

Some did try to push against the door but found it had surly bouncers. Sophie Sabbage was a quasi-aristo with multiple books out over the last decade or so promoting her quackery route to beating cancer. She passed the threshold. Others didn't. Cancer bloggers wouldn't and weren't allowed in unless they had another claim to fame. There may have been a fast one pulled at some point in 5, 000 different picks, but the Cmme were pretty solid on what constituted FFBI ban and what didn't.

From my sickbed, @YoungWillz, it was changed and announced last year for this years competition. Has to be written down on the last word page. One new qo players had asked for, along with the return of the independent.

OK, I'll rephrase as I didn't realise my last comment was subtle! Michael Gambon had to quit stage work in 2015 because he couldn't remember his lines anymore. He was able to keep acting for TV/film with help, because acting was pretty much his be all and end all of life. He spent time in hospital in 2017, returned to do a few bits of acting after, but then just stopped, and last year the word was he wasn't well at all now. That's as much as I know. Shame, as he is a bloody brilliant actor.
