They come across as tactless then, and she comes across as over-precious. Nobody looks good. -
Yeah, Joey, note that Spade mentioned leukemia and then remember there are many different types of it, all with varying degrees of severity. It's wrestling. If it's bad, we'll find out, that lot are worse at poker faces than Theresa May.

33 year old WWE world champ (x 4 or 5 times, I lose count) with relapsed cancer announced last night, for those scratching their heads. Dunno how serious it is - other than general leukemia relapse serious of course - , but yeah, Drop 40ing certainty if the situation turns out dire.

Surprised to hear the Man from Del Monte is still alive, assumed long gone. AKA actor Brian Jackson, 88 next year. Made error of telling this exciting find to Rad, who as a American teenager, has probably never heard of the ad campaign.

Well now you're just spoiling us!

Consultants earn (or did last I saw) 98k PA for their circa 8 days a month NHS work , not including private work on top of that. -

You could say that of much government spending tbh (look at defence for example - lots of "we must spend more", nothing on "what do we *need* to spend on"). Governments like to be seen to be doing things, like the chap who always looks busy when the managers in so gets promoted. -

Am afraid it is. Right, that's enough for now, else in a few weeks Quim Reaper will post asking "How come you made 1000 posts in 9 months?" and I'll have to say "because I wasted 990 posts taking the piss out of mostly LFN and/or charon!" -
Then I call first dibs on them to do my housework!

Those wee robot guys are really going to have pick up the slack with the housework till he recovers, then.

So what you're saying is he was the James Cameron of comics? Rich, popular and powerful but mostly shit? Anyhow, thinking something overrated and dated isn't dismissive of success. The Rolling Stones invented being dated and overrated, but were clearly mega-successful. Mentioned those other 3 as they all started in a similar style of humour to Manning - hell, Bowen never left it! - , but they were able to branch out in a way he didn't ie it's not just yer PC brigade, else every comic is fucked, and others clearly weren't. -

Yeah, hope yer listening, notorious forum snowflake LFN. Anyhow, Manning was overrated, and dated quickly, especially compared to Comedians era contemporaries like Frank Carson, Mike Reid and Jim Bowen, among others. And note all of them, even Bowen, got warm and fond praise when they died, none of the "controversial figure" hushed tones. Manning had comic timing, but so did Russ Abbott and he's as funny as a bout of lung cancer. -
BBC4 doc about 50 Years of the Booker Prize (on Iplayer) has Penelope Lively looking cheery and, well, lively for her age. Tom Maschler, on the other hand, looked and sounded like one small gust of wind would finish him off.

I'd question the chicken.

I thought charon had started this thread, tbh.

^ Thought that was going to be agreeable for about 2 sentences, "have/of" aside. I've never worn a poppy, never plan to.

Fairy Tales? Depends, doesn't it? I mean, I wouldn't read the original Basile version of Sleeping Beauty to kids, but the Disney versions are pretty much sanitized iirc. Is Cinderella lauded for outwitting her dimwit family, or hated for wanting to get married? I know what Twitter probably thinks! Anyhow, the wean loves Beauty and the Beast, which probably gets hated due to female roles in society or something, I dunno, but they just think the Beast is funny and like Garson falling to his death. Also, I'd guess that leaving a baby in a soiled nappy would be far more humiliating. See, I think it's rather OTT to say the least, and was confused by the number of drag queens at any given night out, but... given Germaine Greer thinks drag is the equivalent of blackface, then... I'm quite happy for them to piss off overly precious folk like that! I'm not really offended by much I can think of, tbh. Snowflakes is a term that's been killed from all meaning by the Express and Mail using it frequently for stuff which has nowt to do with offence. Millenial too, but it can be safely translated to "trustafarian middle class wankers, usually in London or other large cities, whose life experience is nothing to do with real life whatsoever". Avocado Toast? Surely that's a hoax, says man who had to google what the fuck an Avocado is. [And who spelt the fucker wrong first time.] Minging looking fruit, apparently. Anyhow, I do have a suggestion, it's that anyone who uses the term "check your privilege" online should be thrown into the nearest river. You'll probably see it, invariably used by those trustafarian wankers, to shut down any dissent from their POV on a topic from the folk who actually experience it. So they can be twitter journalist experts on poverty or race or gayness despite living off the Bank of Rich Mummy/Daddy and doing a bit of tourism around the matter. Fuckers, the lot of them - as you can see from them taking academic terms in the first place, misusing them, then throwing them at the average person to look smarter. Which is when folk on twitter without thinking tell Yoko Ono to watch her white privilege! Anyhow, I digress... -
Sorry for your loss.

@Joey Russ, quick, get yer joke in now before someone else does!

You'll probably have seen Cistone's cancer got much worse, but he's now dead. Another strong contender for Pan Breed 2019 gone. Gonna need a bigger shortlist.
-
I was hoping to DDP him in 2019 as an in-joke with Drol.

Oleg Bazylevych at 80. No English obits, so here's Shakhtar Donetsk's English twitter feed: Managed many Russian and Ukrainian sides, and was Assistant to Lobanovsky when Kiev won the Cup Winners Cup. As USSR co-manager, he failed to qualify for Euro 76. He was manager of Shakhtar Donetsk, CSKA Moscow, and Zorya, all of whom became far more renowned and successful clubs years after he left. He was the 2nd full time manager of the Ukrainian national team, but in his first competitive match, they lost 2-0 at home to Lithuania and he got sacked. Really, Scotland should have signed him in the late 90s, we'd have qualified for something by now with that level of personal bad luck!
-
So he's not alive for you, then. Hang on, a Godsmack member is now old enough to have a 34 year old son??
-
In which case VS Naipaul is actually dead.
-
He needs to shorten that list down to 20 for the DDP.
