Stupid/funny/cool/outrageous/scary/weird/crazy Stuff You Read/saw In The News/on The Internet
msc replied to Dr. Zorders's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
42, 000 year old worms. Sadly for them, their birth certificates weren't found in the ice, so their longevity claim is being disputed by the World's Oldest crowd. -
It's an unmissable show (imo) but there isn't that much discussion you can get out of it here, really.

12/50 by 1st January, by hook or crook. Double figures anyhow, via at least 4 of this lot. 1. Brackers 2. Wouk 3. Kirk 4. McCain 5. Moss 6. Stan Lee 7. Bush Sr 8. 1 of the old regulars (Norden/Philips) on stats alone

Ever see the date on an obit for a fringes figure like that and think "that was 5 years ago? FFS".

Oh yeah, trying to get bread back during Deathray's Snow Storm in March! Local shop (not that big) stowed out with folk panicking looking for stuff. "There's no bread!" I darted round them, grabbed the last loaf off the shelf, paid and walked out while they were still having a tizzy!

Think he's got an above average chance of being on the Deathlist next year.

Things To Do While Waiting For Death

Seems to be shitloads more than there was for the 60s discussion at the time. Thanks! -
Lucky sod. We're near the Clyde which cools the place down a bit but its still remarkably un-Glaswegian. 1976? Any old relatives back then going "it's no as bad as the winter of 46"? Always used to hear that one.

It wasnae battering down here! Mild drizzle at best. Still, wont be too long before Winter now.

Presumably that's why they're shutting, then.

Things To Do While Waiting For Death
msc replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
So, watching that ABBA comp from BBC4, that particular quartet are all still going. Now, a few years ago, there was a discussion of 60s band with all the members still living. I say a few years ago, The Kinks qualified, and Peter Quaife has since died. 8 years ago according to Google, so yeah, wee while ago. Anyhow, as the 1970s are to now what the 60s were back then - time wise - what other 70s bands claim a complete living cast then? My mind runs blank, and if folk on here don't know something about music it ain't worth knowing... EDIT - The Police, obv. Jumping to a second right before pressing send. -
Well, put this way, he's been so long out of the spotlight that when I joined this forum and saw this long thread, despite being a big fan of British actors etc, I thought it was for the horse racing guy. Took me a few weeks to notice it was a Richard and not a Peter.
-
Thought he was dead for a second there. Before twigging his death would never be announced in this thread, naturally.

Some folk appear obsessed with whores!

Things I have only just found out - Lilian Gish was a few weeks off turning 100 when she died.

Speaking of late 90s fuck ups, GrandMaster Sexay (Lawler's son) is DOA. No, wait, DUI. Always mix those two up. Anyhow, as Spade already got in with the "Dead. Dead serious about going to Itchy and Scratchy Land" gag years ago, thus ends the crap wrestling/Simpsons jokes that only I liked. On a different note, 30 years since Bruiser Brody was murdered, and Vice Sports have an article about him. His killer Jose Gonzalez is still alive and well and got away with it. Not mentioned in this is when Atsushi Onita did a controversial angle years later where Gonzalez stabbed him. This was to set up a grudge match in Tokyo, the whole point of which was to set up Gonzalez by getting him in Japan. The Yakuza, you see, really loved Brody. Alas, Gonzalez twigged and pulled out of the match.

27, and apparently a heroin and cocaine addict. That's nearly bingo.

Long as Bobby George is OK. Look, he's funny in those Marigold Hotel things, if he was a secret racist sex pest back in the day I don't want to know!

Found the brilliant award winning seminal film Silence of the Hams on YouTube. (Think there's 3 lies in about five or six words in that last sentences...) "The movie is so bad it is unwatchable, but it had one of the greatest casts ever." @drol

Pointless is actually decent for avoiding the WWTBAM dead air trap. Also, quite easy if you deadpool, given usually around 21 members of the general public can't remember who Theresa May is for an example of the intelligence of the 100... Osman's new House of Games thing, though celeb only, has some interesting ideas like the game where he names a country and the celebs all point out on their Ipad map where they think it is. Usually, terribly...

I have a similar view of the new 15 to 1. What was 24 mins is now 60, lots of preamble chat with the contestants, and crap jokes. You might have no liked WGS (iirc) but he was far better at rattling through "question, correct, wrong, wrong, fuck off you're out" in relatively quick time.

A hit for TMIB. If that doesn't resurrect him....

Tried the first 10, got bored. My crap answers below

More surprising, as he's the answer to one of the Times Daily Quizzes within the last two months, so a name they expect their audience to know. I'd give that one time yet, though.

He ever gets out, he's going straight into my next DDP team. You seen some of those Lennon fans?
