I don't know, I don't feel like Independence is happening in the next few years. Seems like a swing to the Unionists, as seen in the guise of the Tories this decade, at the moment. Willz and charon let out a cheer given the accuracy of my finger on the political pulse... -

Cough... I like Jeremy, he says in a very quiet voice. I don't think he's PM quality, though. But then I didn't think David Cameron was PM quality either, and I was bloody right about that one! -
Yeah, call it a hunch, but I'm pretty sure Michael Levy was younger than Emma Morano!

Oh yeah, btw, we're open for teams for the Semifinals now. Deadline shuts at the usual spot - 30th April, midnight into the 1st June. Semis Reminder DDT or Rad vs Spade or Deadsox Grim or Heef v Death Impends or Gcreptile
-
Not seen QO for Iain Reid or Susan Stros yet. Lucky Akhand gets his due though. Grim's not gone yet. As for DI, well, good news Gcreptile - Death Impends will run out of hits soon! . DDT vs Rad’s Die-monds in the Sky (Rad Guy) 3-1 2. “O” (Gcreptile) vs William Henry Harrison Die-in-a-Month Squad (Death Impends) 2-14 3. 101 Great Practical Jokes with Luciano Re Cecconi (Spade Cooley) vs Deadsox 2-2 4. Swings and roundabouts. The 1997 election was the Tories worst loss since the Great Reform Act! Probably. I suspect this is a good election to lose. And with Brexit (even if it goes well*, lots of folk'll be pissed off by stuff they thought they were getting which they wont), and talk of removing the pension triple lock, increasing income tax, etc etc... Might not be the last landslide in the next decade! *Obviously we all have a vested interest in it going well now its going to happen! Yes. All it needs is for a sleeping virus to KO nearly everyone in the country on June 8th, and the only people with immunity are fans of Owen Jones... Simple.

Mundell will probably keep his seat on the general Tory/SNP swing, but I'd laugh if he lost, just on general principle. Watson needs a 12.65% swing to unseat. However, it's unlikely to be a normal election, universal swing wont come into it.

Thanks Spade, and Obake!

Keith Vaz is standing, best I know. Noooo, Shaun, don't change that avatar!!!

Nah, that imminent WW3 DJL has been bigging up for ages in the other thread will clearly see to us all long before then...

Dalian Atkinson, Ugo Ehiogu, who else from that team is gone?
-
Yeah, I put him in my reserves as I wasn't sure he'd DDP-obit. He was on my Deathrace team though, as he looked fecked.... That worked.

At this point, next leader might be Yvette Cooper by default. Lewis voted against the election because he's got his honeymoon due when its on. Think he'll have time for an extended honeymoon soon after...

They were old pals which is why they probably come close to mind. None close to the calibre of Benn around now though. Or even a St John-Stevas or Denis Healey to be honest. -
Hmm, putting the recent poll into Electoral Calculus suggests the following "names" are at risk: *"names" might be somewhat oxymoronic, but hey... Edinburgh South - Ian Murray (a cert) Orkney and Shetland – Alistair Carmichael (very very unlikely imo) Gordon – Alex Salmond (unlikely, imo) Edinburgh West – Michelle Thomson (done) Moray – Angus Robertson Dumfrieshire – David Mundell (unlikely if Tory vote goes up in Scotland) East Dunbartonshire – John Nicolson Barrow – John Woodcock (done) Lancaster and Fleetwood – Cat Smith (even more done) Bury South – Ivan Lewis Rochdale – Simon Danczuk (pan breed) Wakefield – Mary Creagh (also very unpopular locally, apparently - a bad mix) Leeds West – Rachel Reeves Don Valley – Caroline Flint Coventry North West – Geoffrey Robinson (might retire beforehand) Birmingham Erdington – Jack Dromey Wolverhampton North East – Emma Reynolds West Brom East – Tom Watson Gedling – Vernon Coaker (although this is 4th time Tories have targeted his seat confidently...) Ashfield – Gloria de Piero Bassetlaw – John Mann Leicester West – Liz Kendall Derby South – Margaret Beckett Norwich South – Clive Lewis Croydon Central – Gavin Barwell (possibly the one Labour gain of the night) Carshalton – Tom Brake Dagenham – Jon Cruddas Exeter – Ben Badshaw Brighton Pavilion – Caroline Lucas (another potential Labour gain if Green vote dies) It's in a part of the country I think will be bad for Labour this time out, the seat is vulnerable, and he fits the Portillo role to a T, including murmured future leadership ambitions: I think this years "shock" defeat will be Tom Watson.

Well, given I was wrong about Brexit on here, wrong about the last election, and if I could be bothered to go look, probably wrong about the Indy Ref too. In that case... I can't see beyond a Tory landslide. Theresa May is 100% going to be PM after June. There.

Thanks to the new page, there was me thinking: "Man, your dad must have really loved Rick Rude..."

Nobody has Calment or Knauss's staying power these days. 140 years old and beyond? Let's see someone reach 120 again first.
-
Sure, if we get unanimous agreement from the Semifinalists for it.

And then later, he got mauled by a shark. Clearly he likes animal antics in his film roles.

Of course the damned if you do/damned if you don't thing is that while avoiding the errors of Brown and Callaghan, the British public tend to react huffily to elections they see as unnecessary, and give the ruling party a bloody nose. There's also the last time a "Who governs" election was called, the electorate said "not you". However, with Labour as it is, I think we safely rule both of those ones out this time! -
A close shave then.

It's funny re Nevin. Patience is often a virtue with deadpooling. I've got 4 folk on their last legs (could have a death announcement in the next 20 minutes, could hang on to summer by hook or crook), and 6 others who will almost certainly be gone by Christmas, but currently teams still feel in a bit of a phoney war lull. No one has really talked about The Dead Cow, but if Kobayashi gets a QO that's another team up in contention for the top 5, imo. -
Yeah but if he retires and leaves to his home, we lose our frequently form studying opportunities.

I'd watch... oh, no, sorry, you said in their right mind. As you were then!
