NO TELLING WHEN THIS WILL PETER OUT! 6/50 17th February 2017 Former singer-songwriter Peter Skellern has died to give The Crowdsourced Deathlist another success. Skellern had a UK Number 3 hit in 1972 with You're a Lady, and was looking good to be a unique hit on the Derby Deadpool for Spade Cooley, until news of the singers imminent demise reached the newspapers in late 2016. There's nothing The Crowdsourced Deathlist likes more than a hot tip, and so Peter Skellern made his list debut at spot number 42. He was 69, and continues the fine vein of form The 2017 Crowdsourced Deathlist finds itself in, with six hits by mid-February cementing the fine quality of the picks selected so far.

Slightly faster than expected.

Mantaur, the Godfather extra.

5/20 (1 obit outstanding), about 7 certs left and another 6 wobbling on the 2017/2018 line. I thought a certain pick had turned out a bad gamble, but I had a sense of deja vu about the most recent news about her. Turns out, she's in much the same condition Jules Bianchi was in February 2015. Time will tell if history repeats itself.
-
Apparently 5 of my 20 are gone - Coward, McGiffin, McGill, Skellern, Snuka.
-
What a rotten way to pay back my faith in his ability to see 2018... (Or not to reach the Drop 40, to be more accurate...) EDIT - On the bright side, I appear to have added him to my Hartlepool, Hares, DbN and Alt Obits teams.

Trump isn't going anywhere. Republican voters are loving what hes doing, he wont resign, and there's nowhere near the numbers needed for impeachment. Also, those 2018 midterms... Notice something about that map of states up for grabs next year? 9 of 33 are Republican. It's a defensive election for the Democrats, and they need to hold pro-Trump places or demographically non-great for Dems. Much more likely the Republicans WIN seats then, and secure a strangehold on the House till 2020 onwards.

Incidentally, the word going around wrestling forums about George "the Animal" Steel is hospice care, so he's probably not got long. Snuka and a Guerrero already, with a Hart, Koloff (ex-World Champ), Steel and possibly Vader circling the drain - sounds like the Reapers got a bumper year planned for pro-wrestling. As long as Mantaur is safe, I guess.

Well, that's not really a surprise. Unless you count it as a surprise she lasted this long.

Nabbed a copy of Watership Down to read from the local library just before Christmas. Got through 2 chapters before Richard Adams popped his clogs. Now watching Dambusters for first time. If Michael Anderson pops his clogs in the next week, I guess I'll have to buy a copy of Donald Trumps book or something next... -
Bill Oddie is one of those names I just expect someone like Spade to post on here with "hearing word about Bill Oddie can anyone confirm" followed by BBC links within 10 minutes... at some point in the next few years.

George Steele (b 1937) may be familiar to non-wrestling fans as he appeared in the Tim Burton film Ed Wood. He's been in poor health for years.

On Sunday night, the team submission period for Round 2 opens. It will shut on Tuesday the 28th February at midnight. Some folk will naturally send in teams only to find themselves eliminated, but better that than not sending in a team, winning the round, only to be DQ'd for lack of a Round 2 team. Last month people left till the last minute, and I suspect by then (27/28th Feb) it'll be fairly obvious in a number of ties who needn't bother sending in a team...
-
I don't wish to pick public favourites, being the ref, but it's fairly obvious the big three are the favourites here, Barca, Real and Bayern.. Spade, DDT and DI. But then, at least four of the First Round matches are currently going contrary to my expectations. So who knows who will win, when it comes down to direct head to head competition over a single month?

I remind you that 2003 had no deaths till March, and that people were bemoaning the 2012 and 2013 lists early on at many points!

Well, they might fix the issue then! -
Apparently this Chris Salvatore is a celeb (news to me) but this Norma Cook certainly seems to be only famous for being ill. RIP anyhow. So that's 1 point, plus another point for the unique bonus, for The Dead Cow. It's not looking particularly great for Charon right now but still the better part of a fortnight to go. Young Willz Thistle Do Nicely v Captain Chorizo 0-4 Maryportfuncity FC v Morbid Kid 2-6 The GUN’11 (Grim Up North) v JoeyRuss 6-4 Deathray v Heef 0-8 Chopped Liver v Death Comes to Wembley (Garn2) 2-4 Shaun of the Dead v Rad Guy 2-4 Charon v The Dead Cow 2-9 The Cooler Name (Switch) v I Might Have to Pull You Off at Half-Time (Rockhopperpenguin) 2-2 Pedro67 v Jiroemon Kimura 4-0 Msc v Gcreptile 4-7

Hey, I've known rodents I was far fonder of than my in-laws.

Whilst athiest, the idea of an afterlife which is over run with a few billion gerbils does raise a smile.

Damn, should have liked your post when I saw it this morning, because it made me laugh. But then someone somewhere would think: "Why does he like the swear function going, the fucking cunt?"

Brit on the Manhatten Project, Cambridge physicist Anthony French, died aged 96 in early February. My memory was telling me he was a pick on the DDP before, but the website says I'm wrong.
