    By-Election Bingo

She might decide to see how the by-elections go. Is there still time to get this one in on Dec 1st otherwise this might have to wait until the New Year? Answering my own question theminimum time between the writ and the by-election is 21 days which gives them about a week to issue the writ. I see no reason in not issuing the writ ASAP. Though if these by-elections don't go to plan for the Tories (let's assume for the sake of argument the Lib Dems win Goldsmith's seat), then that might become Theresa May's "internal polling jitters" reason for holding off an early general election. Which as any fool would tell you, would be an error.

    By-Election Bingo

You'd have to be as foolish as Callaghan and Brown not to go for an early election.

    Dead Pop Stars

If and when further confirmed, that leaves Vera Lynn and Doris Day as the only survivors to have had a UK top ten hit in 1952... Hmm, my moneys on the one who was in a car which got hit by a speeding train, and is still with us, to be the sole survivor.

    Political Frailty

Surprised he lasted so long, I was pretty sure he was terminal, thought he was a definite for the first rather than the last quarter of this year. He'd been doing his "I'm totally dying, take pity" thing for so long (at least six/seven years now) one's cynicism had been breached.

    Political Frailty

    Good lord, he actually died?
  12. If the Republican doesn't win Utah, never mind local issues, it'd mean the Republican vote is depressed across the board and so Clinton would be well ahead in the electoral college. So all this talk of "Oooh McMullin could win Utah, he has a statistical chance of the Presidency!" are complete bollocks. Look, the Democrats are going to pick up the states they've picked up since Bill, and the Republicans will pick up their firewall too. Which leaves the usual suspects - Florida, Ohio - and those too close to call - Nevada, North Carolina - as the places the election will be decided.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2017

Lots of chatter on Twitter about The Pride of Britain awards show, and how frail Maggie Smith looked at them. Didn't watch, though.

    The dead of 2016

That was quick! Such an obvious sign that the "scrambling season" has begun with November. These things happen, but there will be others yet. I feel there'll be a Angelil/Diski case too somewhere, that of someone known to be ill, but who suddenly goes downhill rapidly in late November/early December. Probably staring us all in the face too. (That's a gut feeling, not a hint!)
  16. I got bored after a few, but every one can be got from being obvious, the way the question is phrased, or the obviously wrong answers!

    Statistics

Found a bunch of 30-40 year ones for Thelma Todd, Jean Harlow and Robert Donat, but nothing to match Day/de Havilland.

    Statistics

Olivia de Havilland was the love interest for Errol Flynn in some films, Captain Blood being one of them.
  19. Been continuing my listen to long list musicians on Spotify. Holly Dunn. I wish I hadn't. Who writes this pish? I mean, I'm sorry she's got cancer, but fucks sake, the saccharine monotone was making my ears bleed.

    Val Kilmer

A few years back, I fell for a Manuel Noriega is terminally ill hoax played on me by a political pal. In revenge, I randomly told him I'd heard Simon Hoggart was "in a bad way", so they picked him for the deadpool they were in. You know what happened next? Hoggart went and bloody died, the bastard.

Only Famous For Being Ill And Dying

In more recent news on Kris Hallenga, her cancer started growing as liver and bone cancer this year and this is being treated with an unlicensed drug. This is on top of the repeat malignant brain tumours, prior treated liver cancer, and the whole terminal Stage IV breast cancer which she's survived for the last seven years. She's got more fight in her than an entire years scripts of Eastenders.

    Val Kilmer

He did a fine Lee Evans Gambit on himself in 2011! That'll be Kilmer in the Drop 40 then, given nearly 30 teams picked him this year based on a few photos and wild mass guessing...
