Yeah, I don't understand these caucus things at all, you should have something simple like the Additional Member System. -

Early on, Lib Dems seem to be doing well, compared to recent history. Held their 2 seats with big majorities, and rumours of them actually winning another two consituencies. -

Just back from voting. Peach and lilac forms, if you don't mind.! *z-snaps fingers* Early reports from the counts, before any results are announced, can be summed up with the phrase "Labour are fucked". Some of the Glasgow samples had 62% SNP in them. -
Actually, this sounds unique and possibly fun. I take it #3 is all time, and not just this year? Luckily, Google exists for #4.

Scottish elections up here. Who will win them is a close guarded and tense secret, as everyone knows... -
Again? Or is this the same one?

Bayldons alive????? I'm confidently assuming so. 92 & still going strong.. doing what I don't know, but he's probably comatose on Horlicks & Werthers Originals in a nursing home in Berkshire as we type. Well, the 92 bit is accurate. Sadly he's been in frail health for a number of years. If he struggles on into 2017 I will be surprised tbh. There have been rumblings about Sean Connery as he was unable to record even a voice over for the Scottish Indy Ref in 2014. Though that might have been because he couldn't be arsed.

Of vague interest to deadpoolers, Claudio Ranieri's mum is still alive.

Maybe they should - like - get together and talk it over! Nah, they don't talk anymore.

Who Do You Think Will Win The Democrat And Republican Nominations?
msc replied to Bibliogryphon's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
He had one job, to get us all a nice brokered convention, and he couldn't even do that. What a disappointing human being. Hilary should start editing her inaugeration speech. -
Under Section 29 of the Broadcasting Act (soon to be brought back by Whittingdale to deal with BBC presenters), DDT's words will be spoken by an actor. Either that, or they'll get him to take hellium first.

PR release I saw said only two 1,000/1+ singles have ever come in as a bet in history before this Leicester thing (some guy in the 60s got a 1,000/1 on man walking on the moon before 1970 and a 2,500/1 "my son will play international football" bet for some guy). Can this be true? Daft bookie. Glasgow bookies were on average offering 150/1 on that. I know because the late Archie Roy won a sizeable sum doing just that and it allowed him to buy a house.

Vince's mum They have an interesting relationship, to say the least.

To be honest I think it'd be far greater if they won it in the King Power. I reckon they'd hear the celebrations in Old Trafford. I sort of agree, but then that would open the door for Chelsea to win the league for Leicester, and I don't want them to have that honour! Besides, it'd be nice to see LVG seeing the title won at Old Trafford.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people who've never visited Leicester, let alone of their ames, who are jumping on this bandwagon. (I think this a week early though. They'll lose to United.)

Good to see you about, Bert! The Majestik was a bust, but I'm sure far more random picks have gained obits in the past, and given the Mail this year, it was unlucky they didn't go for it with the Jackson link. But if they haven't by now... Still, lots of time to be played yet, in general.

It's very nice of celebrities not to die when the sites down.

So, Ken Livingstone's career is pretty much dead in the water. Such a shame. Strange how the Daily Mail isn't supporting his bringing Hitler into the discussion. -
I might be wrong but I think we've had "bad" (I use the term loosely all press is good) press before and it's blown over. My response is I've learnt about the achievements of hundreds, if not thousands, of people they've probably never heard of through this site in three years. It's a shame that recognition has only arrived after their death but hey-ho. Nobody actively wants the celebrities who they picked in pools to die, we're just using common sense and a bit of nouse to say "it looks as though they might die." If 20 out of 20 of my picks in the DDP survived and maintained good health I'd be delighted at their resilience, given the reason they'd even made it into the list was that being a slim chance. On another note, we've been online for over a (if not two) decade(s), so why are we suddenly news? Aye, though they needn't die either for this. See the number of times someone mentions an aging celeb in the Ideas or other threads only to find other regulars going "Wow, didn't know they were still going!" Or when the careers of, say, Winkle Brown, are "bigged up", as it were, by MPFC long before their death. These conversations always remind me of Anne Feeney. I wouldn't have heard of her if it weren't for DDT, and that was only because she was potentially terminally ill. So I began to listen to her music, and it was right down my street. Long story short, she actually beat the cancer, and is still around now, so, while death is a common partner of the deathlist, the breadth of learning need not always be linked with the Reaper. Anyhow, The Sun and the Express, or any other paper of that ilk calling deadpoolers sick? Sick in my mind is publishing photos of 15 and 16 year old girls with the "all grown up" thing. Sick is colluding with the police and Irvine Patnick over Hillsborough and feigning ignorance. Sick is crashing an accident tribunals to ask underage girls about their sex lives, forcing your way to someone's deathbed to demand they confess dying of AIDS, celebrating the death (and making light of the disfiguring injuries) of soldiers in a stupid war. The News of the World claimed the Derby Dead Pool was sick, and yet which one of them hacked the mobile phone of a murder victim, and then used it after she was dead, thus convincing police and family that she was still alive? Fuck them, the sick bastards.

JENNY ON THE BLOCK 8/50 28th April 2016 Author Jenny Diski has died after a long battle with ill health to give The Crowdsourced Deathlist another success. As a homeless runaway aged fifteen, Diski was taken in off the street by acclaimed writer (but not so acclaimed people person) Doris Lessing. This began a "complicated" relationship between somewhere between pseudo mother/daughter and protege/mentor. Diski's writing had a knack for seeing the seedier sides to idealised life and romance, and in Rainforest, she gives an uncanily accurate portrayal of mental breakdown. In recent years, Diski had been known for her London Review of Books columns. She was 69, and appeared at 35th place on the list.

As I look at this is bet a shilling that neither '8 Teamers' (Marks/Diski) drop dead at all. SC FAO Sir Creep... You were saying? I've just passed the 100 points mark in the DDP for the first time ever. They're both on my Shadow List, numbnuts, and Diski on my DDP. YOU were saying? SC That you were very loud about neither (in particularly Marks, but Diski above too) dying, and both are gone before May. It raises a chuckle regardless of however many pools you actually had them in.
