  1. Unsure if the "vote once a day" counts when your last vote got retconned! But anyhow, as with last time, the songs which made the top 10 but didn't get to number one in 1972 and 1973 include: I'd bat for all of them over nearly 70% at least of the ones that actually made it to number one!
  2. I agree with Toast and En Passant. Let the 1972 killing fields commence!
  3. 55 Smokey Robinson & The Miracles – Tears of a Clown +4 34 Simon & Garfunkel – Bridge over troubled water -6 31 T. Rex - Get it on 14 Slade - Coz I luv you Nowt against Art and Paul, this vote is just designed to get to Round 2 faster.
  4. Presumably Payne and (sadly) Hendrix don't have long left, as the forum have multiple Osmonds to murder later this week, Err, I mean, Round 2, and who knows what the options are there.

    4. Dennis Skinner

Lawson has looked like an unexpected boo would finish him off for years now. Though given he was meant to be quite badly ill with cancer about a decade ago (never did find out what type of cancer) he's done well to make it this far. As has Dennis Skinner tbh - the hushed tones from Labour folk who knew during the 2019 election made it sound like 3 months was a tall order, let alone 3 years.

    Roy Hattersley

Looks and sounds better there than he did during the last election, where he struggled to speak. (That is 2022 footage, right?)

    The 2023 Crowdsourced Deathlist

This will not happen. But should any of the fifty fail to make the starting line, they'll be replaced by the next in line.

    Ideas and possibilities for 2023

Scenario: "Angela Lansbury's dead" (argument about Bedknobs and Broomsticks vs Mary Poppins) "Dick van Dykes the last major cast member left from Poppins right, other than Julie Andrews?" (googles) "Oh fucking hell, Glynis Johns isn't dead" (makes DL debut)

    Ideas and possibilities for 2023

I think its more the belief that if the Cmme were going to pick them they would have done, but then, for every name who falls into the cracks like that, I can think of names I thought had long past their DL sell by date who suddenly made their debuts - like Carl Reiner, Luise Rainer and David Rockefeller to name but three.

    Muhammadu Buhari

Buhari always reminds me of his successor and predecessor, Ibrahim Babangida, who I once called a household name on this forum in jest, and Sir Creep thought I was being serious. Both continue to live despite all the "totally really ill this time" news stories over the last decade.

Each year's most significant Deathlist miss

    Jair Bolsonaro

There's enough evidence out there to suggest that Lula's conviction was, at the very least, deeply controversial, and would have been cause for mistrial in the UK. So, it's not that difficult a choice.
